Gundy is a p*ssy, as identified by a friend/ business associate of mine that lives in Oklahoma. Most of the fan base there wants him gone, not because of a t-shirt he wore, but because of his gutless defense of wearing said t-shirt. OAN is no different than CNN, just on the other side of the spectrum.
How funny it is you want all of us posters to avoid politics - then inject it into the discussion. What does Gundy, Oklahoma State, or their head scratching punishment have to do with Beaver Sports? What, they both use OSU as their acronym? I hope Gundy sues the university for millions of dollars for violating his first amendment and civil rights - you know, the ones the antifa thugs and BLM protesters are hiding behind?
Either you believe in free speech and freedom of expression for everyone - or you don't. You, nor OSU (Oklahoma State) get to choose who gets certain rights, and who doesn't. And regardless of what you may think of the OAN network, they are a legal choice for a portion of the populace to watch, and is really none of your business, or anyone else's. The hypocrisy on display here is stunning.
I'll make this a public warning. Using racist dogwhistle terms ("thugs), particularly in a blanket term for the BLM protesters as a whole, will not be tolerated. You do not have freedom of speech on a private forum. Clean it up, or we'll do it for you. Not a problem. Never realized the term "thug" had any color connotations before, and definitely not "racist dogwhistle" definition. Maybe Webster's and other dictionaries need to update their definitions. But I would say the BLM folks at the park in Salem last Saturday across from the capitol building screaming at my daughter in law who was peacefully praying, when she and her group did nothing to provoke it, was thuggish behavior. If your point is that not all BLM people are like that - I get it. The BLM leader that was there on Saturday was from Mississippi - not sure why it was necessary to travel such a great distance, but whatever works.

I'm finally getting to a point where I read "BLM" and don't wonder what's going on at the Bureau of Land Management. We need more news about the National Forest Service.

You do not have freedom of speech on a private forum. Clean it up, or we'll do it for you. Thing about dogwhistle terms are most people are completely unaware they are using them. Unless you are a skilled and talented orator or leader, people do not plan their speech out to litter them with messaging. However, it really shows how second nature it is to be passively racist, prejudice or otherwise. It is like, the whole larger point man... the problem in America isn't necessarily the explicit and overt racism (not that it isn't still around). most people are self aware enough to know that is illegal and bad. It is our subconscious actions and decisions and behaviors. Things like dehumanizing groups of people that have a message you don't approve of. Really begs the question of why "Don't Be Fascist" and "Treat Black People The Same as White People" are messages one would disapprove of... But it is more than that, it is why still, today, in 2020, you can turn in identical resumes to a job, one with a "white name" and one with a "black name" and the white name gets more call backs than the black name. A study repeated dozens and dozens of times over the years, with numbers that never really move much. And at it's worse, it is why a black person jogging though a neighborhood is "suspicious" while a white person is normal. It is why when a car with two black people in it is pulled over there is always two or three back up cars appearing while a white dude in an accord gets a warning. They don't call it "Driving while Black" for nothing. One man's thug is another man's freedom fighter. Same story for centuries. The only thing that decides it in the end is who wins. History is written by first, the educated, and second, the winner. Life is always about progress. Life is ever changing, ever evolving and ever moving. Some people accept the change and move with it, some people recognize the change means losing their power. People don't really like to lose power... particularly when that power is something they never had to earn to begin with... like being born a man, and being a man by default made you better than a woman in most places on this globe and in America for centuries. Like being born white, in America, which makes you better than non-whites based on our history. Movements that wish to eliminate that power inequity, to elevate women to the same status as men, to elevate non-whites to the same status as whites represent a direct assault in the eyes of some. For some, it is taking away the only advantage in life they ever enjoyed. Adapt or die. and I think a lot of people see themselves dying off and it is scary to them.

I looked up several dictionary definitions, none mention race. Even the Urban Dictionary! As with all things, context matters. The whole point of a dog whistle is the word or phrase itself is not racist... Dog whistle terms are those used to subconsciously evoke a dehumanizing reaction about a group of people. It can be a wide array of words, which are innocuous. Generally it reinforces a larger more overt racial or denigrating message being used to undermine the group. Very specifically, it is done in a subtle manner so the person using the term can't be called out for being explicitly racist or denigrating. It is not the word... it is the intent behind the word, and the association the word is making. Like saying "Obama doesn't love America" is dog whistle because it reinforces the "Kenyan Muslim" narrative, subtle because none of the words, themselves, are racist but it's entire point was to reinforce racist opinions about Obama.

A large percentage of so-called progressives are some of the most passively racist and prejudiced people in existence. Many also like to project in generalities how they view people who don't frequent their political "bubble" in terms of their "white privilege" (no such things exists, btw) to convince themselves it's all about holding onto some (imagined) "power" as the reason they're against certain policies.
The atownbeaver post above being a prime example of such. Talk about projection!
sounds like the prattling of an old man on his death bed.
