Makes you love our staff even more, glad so many players jumped ship, 4 this year. They have their 20-21 roster posted already, 12 players, 5 freshman. It will be interesting to see how their season goes, any more defections, etc.

What is wrong with these coaches? This kind of mistreatment is outrageous and disgusting. Although simplistic and maybe not fully applicable to sports and coaching, I was taught a manager should say at least 4 positive things to every criticism or negative comment. These type of coaches are way out of bounds in their commentary and treatment of players.

I recall our friends over at Nike once (in)famously proclaimed "Winning Takes Care of Everything". Some of these coaches take that to heart and think that any means are justified to get their W's.

Complicated by the fact that many of these coaches accused of "tough love on steroids" aren't even winning. GO BEAVS!!

I guess there are different approaches to coaching - we are very fortunate to have a coach in Scott Rueck who has figured out that teammates that are close, like each other, and co-exist in a supportive environment (I still use his quote from his hiring press conference "[teammates] don't have to like each other, but they do have to love each other") will naturally win - and more than just in terms of W-L. And we have seen that.....
Unfortunately some schools seem to have hired the WBB equivalent of Bobby Knight, or coaches aspiring to Bobby Knight's W-L record and confusing his methods with his results......and I hope our athletic department never subscribes to coaches with that approach.
Some win with class, some just win, some have no class, some are just losers - I count OSU very lucky in WBB.
Go Beavers!
