Less than a mile from my house. I'll have to check him out and write a reporter in the fall.

When I first read the article I was confused by the fact it said he was a 3 star bit he was not ranked by rivals or ESPN and the site they were using had him as a 2 star. That threw me off a bit and subconsciously I thought this guy would be bad but I am happy I had a open nibs because I eneed up beine pleasantly suprised aND do see him as a 3 star.
Pros: * Decent size and still young with room to grow abs fI'll out. * Although he doesn't have break away speed he does have a good first step and solid body control. *I'm my opinion is just a good athlete and quick guy. * showed intelligence making good Decisions on options aND never threw the ball to someone who was clearly not open. * very good touch on intermediate passess especially to you TE over the middle and never laid his guys out * this was by far my favorite thing he brought to the table. If you watch his head when he drops back you can tell he is going through his progressions. On one drop back I think I saw him check out 3 guys and throw to his 4th option. So often young guys decide so they are throwing it to before they say hike or can only look at the Routes in 1 side of the field and get crazy happy feet but he stood in there aND stayed calm looming through his routes. * my last quality was I really liked how he was checking Down to guys actually running routes opposed to a quick dump off to a RB or te.
Cons: * Arm strength is my biggest concern. I felt he under threw several balls down field. *accuracy over the top. He was great intermediate but when he tried to go for the home run they were short and off target. *his competition looks to be a pretty low level which worries me that they could be letting him get away with things he won't be able to against good competition. *lack of interest from other schools kinda concerns me. He goes to camps and seems to put himself out there but as the article said several schools don't go past a conversation. I understand he's not completely polished but I do Think he's got the skill set to be a nice project boom or bust type guy so the fact no one really other then us and Cincinnati have pulled the trigger worries me there could be a Xfactor we don't know about (grades, bad teammate) but that's purely speculation.
At the end of the day I think he's a solid pick up with good upside. I do not see him as a immediate impact guy at all but you could Sign him then redshirt him and let him live in the weight room building on that strength to help how arm and he could end up being a hit and fighting for a job 2 or 3 years down the line.

Nice analysis.
I think we're likely set with Garretson and then Moran for about the next 5 years, barring injury. I'm not saying there aren't guys out there who could come in and beat them out. No doubt there are, but we're unlikely to get them.
We need depth desperately at the position and I'm fine with a guy like this, who can come into a game and take care of the ball.
His deep ball could get better. I was underwhelmed by Moran's junior video, as a passer. I thought his senior video was a quantum step up.

I rarely get too excited about highlight videos. There's a lot of cherry picking involved. He's only got 10 career TD passes and runs a veer offense that isn't really geared towards the passing game. They don't show the 55% of passes he hasn't been completing.
That said, I like his ability to handle himself in traffic as a runner. I like the fact he seems to be showing well in camps. Can't get critical of a QB who's not putting up passing stats on a team not geared towards passing. It'll be interesting to see how his senior year goes. If the coaches are on him this early he must have some stuff the coaches really like.

Moran was the backup and had only 15 passing attempts as a junior. His senior video definitely should be more impressive! His deep ball could get better. I was underwhelmed by Moran's junior video, as a passer. I thought his senior video was a quantum step up.
