He's no Jack, and is pretty slight. I really am not confident in our back QBs, and I fear him getting banged up and missing some significant time.
I especially don't trust WSU not to sacrifice a late hit or hit to helmet to take out our QB.

I'd rather he not hold the ball out and let a very very slow UW DL some how rip the ball out. But that's just me.

Poor Luton. That hit was more USC or Hole, not Wazzu.
I agree that Chance needs a refresher course with the baseball team. The extra yard or two generally isn’t worth the risk. Love the competitiveness, though.

I trust him, but beyond that, yikes....Noyer, nope.....Vidlak isn't ready I was just thinking we need more RPO, especially if he's "off" like he was against U dub. His legs are a weapon....but yes, he needs to protect himself better. I would expect Smith/Lindgren to plan some ways to get easy completions (our huge talented TE's!.....Hello!) especially early to get Nolan's confidence up, and move the chains. That's the nice thing about having a cohesive staff.....should be able to adapt and overcome.

He did dress for the last game, but all reports are that he is still a few weeks away. It was referenced again today in Daschel's link below. Q&A

Bigger priority is decision making and passing consistency.

A month ago many were ripping Noyer for his play against Purdue. Many said Nolan should start the next game. Well Nolan has has had two bad games in a row. Anybody think the QB position should be reevaluated?

Anybody think the QB position should be reevaluated? Absolutely.....it's always a competition if ur guy isn't playing at an elite level. Nolan is certainly not doing that. I could see Gebbia taking the job back when he's healthy.....or maybe Nolan improves. Noyer.....I dunno. Feels like he is who he is at this point....a great athlete, maybe not a great passer.

Bigger priority is decision making and passing consistency. This sums it up I think. He has the ability. He makes a great throw here and there. He takes off and can cover ground in a hurry. The consistency is lacking though.

Anybody think the QB position should be reevaluated? Noyer should be getting more snaps in practice than usual the next two weeks. Nolan at his worst is still better than anything that I have seen from Noyer. If Gebbia can get to where he was last year health-wise, I would immediately think about Gebbia taking over. Nolan needs some work. His footwork continues to be bad. This bye comes at a great time. He can't throw the ball that fast or far and is inconsistent at times. Either Gebbia comes back healthy or Nolan gets two additional weeks to work on setting his feet and slinging it. Utah in 13 days. Let's protect Reser. The next six games are each easily winnable. (And probably almost as equally losable.) The recipe for success for Oregon State has always been to win everything at Reser and to try and steal as many games as possible on the road. Oregon State has not beat Wazzu since 2013 and has not beat Utah since 2013. And the Beavers have not beat the Utes at Reser since the magical start to the 2012 season. We have a chance to end a nine-year drought on the 23rd. Utah plays Arizona State next week, while Oregon State is on bye. And Utah play UCLA the week after Oregon State. The Beavers have a decent chance of sneaking up on the Utes.
