Thanks for the stats link.
The amount of revamp really came home to roost for me as I strained to find familiar names.
Granted, WT might have been trying to figure out his bench in this game....
Will tune in and hopefully get enthused about MBB again!

The opponent was physically overmatched but there was a lot to like. Played hard and aggressively on defense throughout. Other than Okano, who was impressive, the major contributors were mostly freshmen. Pope was steady at the point and so was Krass who was a surprise to me. Bilodeau made a lot of basketball plays. He has an interesting skill set - rangy with good hands and long arms, quick jumper with a nose for the ball on the boards and appears to have a nice shooting touch. Stevens is really athletic. Taylor Jr. did not have a productive scoring game but had a nice court game and proved last year he can score some points. Rataj started and seemed a little hesitant offensively but he may have been the leading rebounder. Like some of the other freshmen he is Impressive physically.
I hope Beaver fans give this group a chance to grow and develop.

Some good stuff out of these stats... like to see Pope at the point with 4 assists, 4 rebs, 3 steals and -0- turnovers. I don't care if it's only Lewis and Clark. A freshmen PG in his first college game with no turnovers is a good thing. |

A freshmen PG in his first college game with no turnovers is a good thing. Watching 2 of Pope's games at the end of last year, he's an interesting player. Not flashy at all, not a ball hog at all, scored his points quietly and piled up a lot of stats withinthe flow of the game. He's a solid player. |

Not to read much into a preseason game, but nice to see a very comfortable win. Last year’s win over an average DII St. Martin’s on a last-second 3 from Davis turned out to be prophetic on how bad that team was. Hopefully this signals a separation from last year’s disaster.
