I'm not the keenest eye of talent for basketball, but he looked awfully athletic for a big man.

Eubanks was a beast last night! Based on what he did last night, seems odd that he didn't dominate more in high school.

He was on a very very bad team... was pretty easy to focus on him... he still was a 18/14/6 type at that.

He flies around like he's a 6'3" guard, kid can move and is extremely athletic. We haven't had a big that mobile in forever, and that's a long time. He doesn't know much yet but he will be a really good player for the Beavs. Lots of athleticism on the court.

Uh Oh... I feel my expectations and enthusiasm for Eubanks going through the ROOF! Kid better average 10 boards and 5 blocks a game now or I am going to be disappointed ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Agreed. I know it was only an exhibition against a D II (?) team, but Eubanks showed real athleticism. He was so up on some of his blocks that he'll need to learn that he can actually just tap the ball to himself on those rather than putting it in the sixth row. Very impressive is that he only had one turnover.

I had flashbacks to Brian Jackson's frosh debut last night. I was expecting to be impressed more by Tinkle or Thompson, but that was not the case. I just hope he gets the coaching and stable opportunity Jackson missed out on. Very excited to watch his career in Orange and Black.

I'm not the keenest eye of talent for basketball, but he looked awfully athletic for a big man. I think it is a good thing Tinkle is! I know a few people out in the world were wondering out loud about Eubanks based on high school production (he was on an otherwise not great team), and if he was destined to be a redshirt or whatnot. Clearly Tinkle knows what is up. All the freshman looked solid, and Eubanks is a very rare combination of size and athleticism. that kid is going to cause problems for a lot of teams in his future.

A another recruiting class or so a player like Eubanks is a "flyer" you redshirt and see what happens. Right now he might be our best post even as an inexperienced frosh... Although Jarmal plays bigger than his frame in flashes, he has shown no consistency.

Although Jarmal plays bigger than his frame in flashes, he has shown no consistency. When we get to the point where a talent like Eubanks is our "flyer's" then we are in a very good place. And I expect that to be the case soon enough. He is young for sure and I assure you he will have a crap game or two for us. but there is a whole lot to like already. Even considering the team he just played against. This freshman class already looks to be living up to some hype. Had GPII not basically had the flu on the floor last night, I am sure there would of been much more of a beatdown going on.

Eubanks is a great kid... but, at Zaga he is a "project" compared to the returning bigs/recruits... he'd get short minutes/redshirt depending... "flyer" is not a negative connotation when talking about upper echelon programs... he was just a little unknown and only recently tested against high level competition. It's all about his future now... who cares about what "scouts"/rankings say.

An absolute beast!!! I'm liking our other four freshmen too:
Thompson - Sweet jumper. We finally have our consistent outside shooter / scorer. Tinkle - Does everything well, a real asset on the court. Bruce - Great ball handler. Interesting how Coach used him at the end of the game to be the main ball handler. Big G - Really liked what he did last night in limited minutes.
Good times ahead!!!
