Sad news. I live on the southern gulf coast for a while and spent some time in the keys. His music was the soundtrack of a whole subculture who lived a lot of the words he sung. A pirate looks at 40, the captain and the kid and Havana daydreaming are classics

Terrible day. I’ve seen him well over a dozen times from Red Rocks, Co to Auburn, Al to Honolulu and many points in between. The Red Rocks show was off the hook! RIP just doesn’t sound right. How about, HFJ! (Have Fun Jimmy) ![]()  |

RIP ... "Come Monday" was always one of my favorite songs of his. Turning the opening lyrics of that song looking at the calendar right now : "Headin' up to Heaven* ... for the Labor Day weekend show ..."  |

I wouldn’t call myself a parrot head but I did see him twice. Once at Mac Court and once at the memorial Coliseum. Both great shows. |
