All pro tight end with Patriots and 49’s. Grew up in Pleasant Hill and played at Oregon. National high school javelin record holder. Was on ABC’s superstars and performed at wrestlmania.

He died in a plane crash at the Lake Placid Airport, in the Adirondacks. He had recently purchased the Lake Placid Airways scenic tour business at the airport.

Son of Portland Wrestling’s “Gentleman” Ed Francis. The man who introduced Jimmy Snuka to mainland US wrestling (for better or for worse). According to Wikipedia, after 3 years at Oregon: “He enrolled at rival Oregon State University in Corvallis in order to expire his collegiate eligibility and be eligible for the 1975 NFL Draft.” I’ve never heard of that until just now. |
