I will also note it is import in our fight for the Pac to quantify the costs we are incurring just trying to keep playing football next year. We had to go buy a schedule.

I *think* this tells me we feel pretty confident on the legal front.

>Oregon State and Washington State are in discussions with other leagues to create affiliate memberships for their other sports.
That's great news for baseball, soccer, a bunch of other sports.

I've heard the WCC (for obvious reasons) and the Big 12 for wrestling. I would think they might have gymnastics compete in the Big 12 as well, although I think gymnastics is probably capable of filling out a full schedule basically as an independent

I *think* this tells me we feel pretty confident on the legal front. Maybe. I mean our back stop is the Pac-12 is actually dissolved and we still get money. Just not as much. It is much, much better for us to control the Pac though.

So the east-coast hack was right after all.

So the east-coast hack was right after all. Not sure who you are talking about here but I don't think adding a bunch of MWC teams to the schedule was ever really in question. Whether or not there would be certain concessions by the Pac-2 to do so was, however.

I don't know how much I trust Ross Dellinger. He's literally posted the exact same thing almost verbatim numerous times. I think he has only heard from MW side and hasn't talked with OSU people at all. To me it seems like he will just keep posting it hoping it comes true.

Pretty sure most of his sources are MWC connected. All I know is that what has been reported so far shows that what the Pac-2 is doing does not include any concessions regarding future merger scenarios with the MWC and that the schedule that is being put together involves five P4 conference teams, the six MWC teams and one FCS team. Not the three nonconference games and nine MWC teams. I guess it remains to be seen if this agreement adds more MWC teams to the schedule, however.

From Article.
"While there is not expected to be a contractual requirement for a long-term merger between the two entities, there is an intent and understanding of full-time membership for OSU and WSU in the Mountain West or a merger."
"For now, the scheduling alliance is football only. The two entities continue to explore a similar scheduling agreement for men’s and women’s basketball, though an agreement is likely weeks away. Oregon State and Washington State are in discussions with other leagues to create affiliate memberships for their other sports."

I was attacking the conclusions drawn from some of his squirrelly statements.

Not a merger concession, but I would say that paying them $14 million and letting them keep all media revenue from their home games is a type of concession.
