With Kim's flip to ASU, we are down to six preps in the class. I'm hoping for a couple of late surprises.

I'm coming to grips with the likelihood that this is probably gonna be a completely lost year of recruiting.
With all the uncertainty for so long, and Smith spending more time on the phone with his agent than recruits, we're gonna have a huge hole in this class that Bray will need to dig us out of.

Next year is going to be tough. The late screwing by Smith really threw a wrench into things. If he would have stayed I think things would have been fine. I dont even want to guess next years record yet but a dose of reality is starting to set in, Thanks Jonathan you really did it it on the way out and you are still screwing things up.

JS might want to have his agent pick up his remaining things in Corvallis, I doubt the neighbors will give him a welcome home!! His screw job on the university is becoming a thing of legend!! What he did to the recruits/recruiting and the positive growth of the team could take years to recover from, THANKS Jonas!! Good luck to TB, he is going to need that and a large dose of confidence to maintain forward growth for the Beavs. I think he will be ok, but it's going to be a challenge for him AND the fans.

I think we've got a lot of problems in the immediate future but lack of much of a HS recruiting class is down toward the bottom of my list. Unless they are really special (and who in this incoming class was?) they're not going to step in and do that much right away. And we waste a lot of time, energy, and money recruiting someone with 12 Power 5 offers out of HS who opts for the portal a year later and now has 3 or 4? The transfer portal is where the action has to be right now for OSU whether we want to admit it or not.
I know, I know, "You need to build a program the right way from the ground up." True. But Bill Snyder built an extremely formidable program at KState largely with JC transfers. And, unlike the days of "Two years of eligibility remaining but can he finish his credits by summer?" these portal kids were not academic risks coming out of HS. And some of them have 4 years of eligibility.

And some of them have 4 years of eligibility. I think that Durant, Foster and the kid from Eastern Oregon could all be sneaky good. Don’t count us out regarding some decent activity in January when Heyward-Johnson (almost 100% on that, just waiting on official announcement and the Raiders season to end). He is a great recruiter. It very probably is too late to hope for much at this point even if that all plays out, so we’ll have to rely on the portal and development on the present roster, but that’s what we do at OSU. Our former coach hosed us, without question, and I find myself liking him a little less each week, but I refuse to allow him or any evacuees from the program ruin my sense of hope moving forward. Can’t imagine that the ride won’t have some bumps for the next couple of years, but we’ll be OK, and all of this present BS will be a distant memory. I think that OSU and the Cougs are going to defy the skeptics, and down the road people will be impressed with how we not only weathered the tsunami that was forced on us, but rose above this to thrive.

half glass full....(rare for me) with fewer HS guys coming it, it leaves more scholarships for guys who didn't have them last year..
