Anyone feeling a bit better about flushing our game with Notre Dame after the Buckeyes and Noles performance? Always good to see ACC and Big Ten trash lose.

Espn should watch out. If bowl games go bye bye they will have to show reruns of corn hole

Speaking of the orange bowl it's BS that georgia is throwing, especially into the end zone.

Two things:
1. bill82 nailed it with the opening post on this thread....The Beavs looked bad on National TV - and in the eyes of anyone who follows the game. BUT, after watching mini-NFL franchise Ohio State deliver 60 minutes of offence-impaired Big Ten slog-ball it didn't seem nearly so bad.
2. Then watching "we're 13 - 0 and fantastic" FSU look like Tallahassee Community College made it seem even less bad...
So, yes, I do feel better flushing the Notre Dame game.... GO BEAVS!!

They need to scale down the number of bowl games from 42 to like 25. that way you eliminate all the 6-6 and 5-7 teams. That would drop number of teams who make a bowl from 84 to 50. Would actually have to win like 7+ games to make a bowl game.

But I think the bowls would mean more if you had fewer and therefore, I think more players might play in them because they would mean something. I would rather watch bowl games where teams actually had to win games to get there and not 10 games of 6-6 teams playing each other.

With respect to the Beavs loss, they were beaten from the moment he whose name is not spoken got on the airplane with half of our coaching staff. Then, after watching the adults in the room desert them, our players could only watch teammate after teammate, almost all very significant parts of the team, bail out on them, including one the morning of the game. All this on top of the world of big time college football f%#*ing them over.
I just think the wind was taken completely out of their sails, individually and collectively, and they simply didn't have anything more to give. No surprise it was a rout, but I'm proud of all the kids who stuck it out.
Bray has his work cut out rebuilding our team, but he's up to it.

Did fsu have a lot of opt outs? From Googling "Did fsu have a lot of opt outs?": "Nearly 30 players opted out or were injured. ..FSU was without 14 starters in total."

Sounds good but for the vast majority of the bowls they will still have skeleton teams, True. If your team isn't in playoffs I suppose. But I think the bowls would mean more if you had fewer and therefore, I think more players might play in them because they would mean something. I would rather watch bowl games where teams actually had to win games to get there and not 10 games of 6-6 teams playing each other. Bowl Games are from another (and, in my opinion, better) time. The 4-team playoff pretty effectively killed most of them and the 12-team playoff will kill the rest. A team's ranking throughout the year only matters if it helps the team get into the playoff. Their ranking at the end of the season doesn't matter at all. Every post-season game, outside the playoff, is a consolation prize that nobody cares about now. I don't *think* I'm the "Get off my lawn!" or "Back when I was young..." old man, but I guess I am when it comes to Bowl Games. I was 100% happy with having the "true" National Champion be a point of debate and more than a few bowl games feeling like they gave your team a legit argument to be in the conversation. Then again, I was 100% happy with some games not being on TV and the schools not being completely at the mercy of the TV networks. So, I guess I am that old man.
