I remember thinking it seemed crazy to pick our girls 10th when that came out. I realize the conference is stacked, but it seemed to me like a slap in the face We were picked 9th in the media poll. 10th in the COACHES poll. LOL. I don’t see it as a big deal. Most even on this board weren’t predicting the astonishing emergence of our younger players or the productivity of Rees, who was seen by most as a Utah cast-off. Not to mention the emphatic return to form of Talia It’s hard to predict the kind of synergy that has developed on this team. The whole is far greater than the sum of the parts. Yea, I just thought our talent was better than that.....but, again, the conference is stacked. It is awesome how they are playing right now!

To further clarify, I admit I have orange colored glasses, so I can definitely have an inflated perception of the talent on any given Beavs team. I try to relate what we have to the rest of the conference, but I don't always succeed. Still, in my gut, I felt like Rueck was building something special......Beers gets a ton of credit. Not only for her game, but her leadership. She is only a sophomore, but seems like a senior. I think Beers' mentality is a big catalyst for this teams success.

This is a quick FYI for out of town Beaver Fans.... As of this morning the Corvallis Hilton has not figured out that March 22 & 23 are 1st round NCAA games - most likely in Corvallis. Rooms still available at almost usual prices....I would guess this will not last long.... Like I say: FYI for out of town Beaver fans..... GO BEAVS!! As of today (March 15) rates for March 22, 23, 24 & 25 are now $100 per night higher..... Glad I booked early.... GO BEAVS!!

Likely need a subscription to read this, but the picture alone is worth the link: t.co/1mFTKzyeLbour piece : No. 3 Oregon State Albany 1 Region The Beavers return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season. Their defense holds opponents to just 36 percent shooting, and sophomore forward Raegan Beers is among the most difficult bigs to stop on the inside, averaging 17.7 points per game on 66 percent shooting.

Agree or disagree, I always find these fun reads. I'm thinking "no way Gonzaga makes the final four", but the truth is they are a very good team and when I look at all the other teams, they seem flawed as well. A lot of people are going with UCLA to the final four, and they are talented, but I have a tough time getting past their losses, including to a short-handed Oregon State. Same goes with Stanford, USC, Colorado, etc.
I do believe the Beavs have a solid shot at the elite 8, but Notre Dame, if that is who they end up facing, is a good team. The Beavs really haven't got rollin' since the reset of having Raegan back. I'd love to see them get started now, but getting past the elite 8 is a big ask. Perhaps if Gonzaga, (WCC) can go far it would be a good sign for the Beavs next season. Bye bye Pac-12.

Yeah, there's a reason this is mild on the hot takes scale. IMO, the Beavers are a very strong pick to make the Elite Eight. Not liking the road through South Carolina to get to the Final Four. I don't think anybody in that part of the bracket is overjoyed with that situation.

I don't think anybody in that part of the bracket is overjoyed with that situation. Lot of ground to cover before getting to a game with South Carolina. I happen to think Beavers are a good match up with South Carolina. Beavs have good size & talent in the middle, and a very good defense on the perimeter. Hopefully, we will have an opportunity to discuss this topic in a few weeks.

Hopefully, we will have an opportunity to discuss this topic in a few weeks. My view is largely based on the OSU team we saw during that run between the first loss to Stanford and the UCLA game when Beers went down. Now that Beers is back and has had even more time to practice and finish out the healing process, I expect the team to be primed to get back to that level. And IMO that level is equal to what you expect out of a top 10 team. That doesn't mean I think they are automatically going to beat every team on the way to a meeting with South Carolina, but I think there's a very good chance that the Beavers can get there and probably will if they play at the level they did during that stretch. As far as South Carolina is concerned, I expect them to run the table and win it all. I saw them pretty much control defending champion LSU (now with Van Lith) for most of the game for the SEC title. SC is just at a different level this year. But that's why you play the games -- you never know.

Simple math really. If the ladies can't shoot mid range to past the arc it will be a quick exit. Need to have shooters make their shots. Enough of the 5-8 minute stretches without hitting the broad side of a barn. Lets go flame throwers been missing you!

Some really, really, haven't watched much SCar wbb of you think OSU is a good matchup!?
Anything can happen, but SCar is a nightmare matchup with 99% of teams. OSU doesn't have the overall speed, athleticism, or interior size/depth. A loss by something in the teens would be a great effort.

I'd say none of those things are problems for this year's OSU. Mostly experience is their major advantage. I just hope we get to see who's right.
