www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/30423107/ncaa-women-bracketology-2024-women-college-basketball-projectionsOregon State, the other big mover, is now in position to be a host school as a No. 4 seed. The Beavers went from No. 22 in the NET to No. 17 after a sweep at Utah and Colorado, the most impressive consecutive road wins of any team in the country this season. They are 4-0 against the mountain schools. With UCLA and USC visiting Corvallis this weekend, Oregon State is in position to lock down a top-four NCAA tournament seed. This after being the next-to-last at-large team in our preseason bracket and picked to finish 10th in the conference by the Pac-12 coaches.

I remember thinking it seemed crazy to pick our girls 10th when that came out. I realize the conference is stacked, but it seemed to me like a slap in the face

They are certainly exceeding all expectations. After the last season or two and how strong the conference is, I thought they would finish no higher than eighth this season and I predicted 7 conference wins. I am so impressed with the job the entire program is doing.

It looks like we took Gonzaga's spot as a 4-seed.
FYI: Stanford is a 1-seed. UCLA and Colorado are 2-seeds. USC a 3-seed. Utah a 5. Wazzou is still holding on, now with a 10 seed but fading fast. Cal has made up to the bottom of the bubble. When they come to Gill to finish the season, they may be playing for a berth.
I couldn't find UO anywhere in the bracket. Must be a computer malfunction.

Charlie C. says our twin victories this weekend were the best road victories anywhere in WBB this season.
There are few things better than host(ess)ing. May the Goddess of Hoops guide us to March Madness home victories!

LOL on the ducks. I just can't see Wazzou making the tournament. They only have 4 Pac12 wins and still have to face the Mountain and Desert schools on the road, besides getting the Beavs/ducks at home. I just don't see 5 wins, which is what I think it will take for them to make it. The rest of the Pac is just going to be a "who can prove themselves" ending. Colorado has road games at Utah, UCLA, and USC, while UCLA and USC have to play the Beavs in Corvallis and face Colorado/Utah at home. They are all tourney teams, but who gets the better seeds depends on who can win these games down the stretch. Hold on to your seats!

Note also that Colorado and Utah each went up a notch in their seedings. The Beavers have reached the point where losing to them does not hurt one's seeding, and in fact one's seeding can improve even with the loss.

Might see them in the Women's Basketball Invitational bracketology. Not to be confused with the WNIT.

This is a quick FYI for out of town Beaver Fans....
As of this morning the Corvallis Hilton has not figured out that March 22 & 23 are 1st round NCAA games - most likely in Corvallis. Rooms still available at almost usual prices....I would guess this will not last long....
Like I say: FYI for out of town Beaver fans..... GO BEAVS!!

How did both those teams move up a spot in the seedings? I guess I can see Utah, because they beat UCLA early in the week, but still, both teams lost at home to the Beavs and still moved up a spot in bracketology.

I remember thinking it seemed crazy to pick our girls 10th when that came out. I realize the conference is stacked, but it seemed to me like a slap in the face We were picked 9th in the media poll. 10th in the COACHES poll. LOL. I don’t see it as a big deal. Most even on this board weren’t predicting the astonishing emergence of our younger players or the productivity of Rees, who was seen by most as a Utah cast-off. Not to mention the emphatic return to form of Talia It’s hard to predict the kind of synergy that has developed on this team. The whole is far greater than the sum of the parts.

The only thing to say definitively about Charlie Creme's picks is that they provide a good living for Charlie and his family. Last I looked, he wasn't on the selection committee. One could argue that we should be projected as a 3 seed right now, but what does it matter? The only thing that matters is what the committee thinks next month.

Win games and the rest takes care of itself. It would be a huge advantage if we host first two rounds and then head to portland for a couple.

The Cougs have the added hurdle that they will probably be evaluated based on how they've done since Leger-Walker was lost to injury for the rest of the season. They haven't fared well.
