Setting up for rivalry weeks to be Boise or WSU is probably a good call.

End the season Nov 30 at Boise State. 2 BYE weeks Well, I got the game in Boise to end the season right. Colorado Springs on November 16th? That is problematic. I was hoping that they would flip-flop the Air Force and Nevada games or, at least, make the Air Force game a week earlier. I was hoping that San Jose State would be earlier and UNLV would be later. I really wanted to get the Spartans early, before they got their sea legs with a new coach. And I was hoping that Oregon State could play UNLV in weather. But that is all pretty nitpicky. At first glance, with the exception of the above, it looks really close to a perfect schedule.

End the season Nov 30 at Boise State. 2 BYE weeks Here is the full composite Mountain West schedule, including Oregon State and Wazzu: Oregon State and San Jose State each end up with the perfect schedules: four weeks, bye, four weeks, bye, and four weeks. Nevada plays 13 games with two byes. Hopefully, that means that they will be tired for the game in Reno against Oregon State. Hawai'i and New Mexico each have three byes, but Oregon State plays neither, so it is really a non-issue. After looking at the full composite, I like playing Nevada and UNLV, where we do. Hopefully, they will be tired. Air Force and Boise also come at good times, considering the games before for both. Boise has the earliest final bye of all teams, October 19. And Air Force has the second earliest final bye, October 26. Air Force plays @ Army and hosts Fresno before Oregon State. Boise plays @ UNLV, San Diego State, Nevada, @ San Jose, and @ Wyoming in the five weeks before hosting Oregon State. Hopefully, Air Force and Boise will both be tired.

It's only "sort of" official...
MWC teams are subject to a "lottery system" CBS and Fox Sports. One or two of our games could be changed to a weeknight contests. As the season progresses records and matchups of ranked or undefeated teams may get some spotlight Thursday or Friday night spots??

Nick Dashel mentioned something similar in his story about OSU's schedule. Times and television partners will be released at a later date. Game dates against Mountain West opponents are not set in stone. MWC television partners CBS Sports and FOX Sports have the option to initiate a selection process, allowed them to move select games to an evening time slot on a weekday.

Anyone know how far in advance fox or CBS can change a games date? Kind of fs things up if you wanted to fly to an away game and you'd like to buy an airline ticket.

Here is the full composite Mountain West schedule, including Oregon State and Wazzu: Hawaii and New Mexico with 3 BYE weeks. Don't think I've ever seen that. Since 2009, because of Army and Navy's schedules, it is possible for Army and Navy to have four byes pretty much every year. Navy had four byes last year and both Army and Navy can have up to four byes this year. What follows is for non-Army and Navy teams. It is a 14-week regular season this year, conference championships in week 15. That has not happened since 2019. Arizona, Florida, and Miami had three byes in 2019. Sometime between 2014 and 2017, they re-started week zeros for special reasons. From 2009-2018, it was not possible for three bye weeks. Had there been week zeros, it would have been possible for three bye weeks in that time period. It was possible for three bye weeks in 2008. Half of the Pac-12 had three bye weeks in 2008: Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, UCLA, USC, and Washington. Oregon State famously (infamously?) tried to get Oregon to push back the 2008 Civil War one week in 2008 to give both teams three byes, but Oregon refused, leading to one of the worst Civil Wars that I have ever seen. USC and Virginia Tech had three byes in 2004. San Jose State had three byes in 2003. I do not know what the rules were before they expanded the season to 12 games (with the weird one-year reversion to 11 games in 2005), beginning in 2003, so I would hate to guess at it.

Better pack your longjohns for the last two road trips of the season. Four of our first five at home. We better be 4-1 at the very least.

I wanted to add that Oregon State gets to play both UNLV and Wazzu in their second-straight road games. UNLV plays in Logan the weekend before playing in Corvallis. And Wazzu plays in ABQ the weekend before playing in Corvallis. That could really help in both games, after everything is all said and done.
