FYI in case anyone missed this, Legislature appropriated $10 million to OSU for athletic scholarships right at the end of session.
Can be found in SB 5701 if you look it up online in OLIS. it is in the reconciliation paperwork, section 507.

Did they “give” the same to all the other public Universities?

Did they “give” the same to all the other public Universities? No. All other public universities didn't get screwed out of a conference and tens of millions in media rights.

Did they “give” the same to all the other public Universities? No, just to Oregon State University. They might be doing something in a different bill?

Well, at least taxpayers in Jordan Valley and Rome that have no ties to OSU might start to follow the recruiting process. So we got that going for us, which is nice.

She called me a smart ass. I think she thought we were going somewhere else.

Im sure the good folks in Jordan Valley (population 135) and Rome (population 640) are fine citizens. I’d wager that many have strong ties to OSU.

There has never been a Miss Oregon from Jordan Valley. There has never been a Miss Oregon Teen USA from Jordan Valley. There may have been a Miss Oregon USA from Jordan Valley, but I could not find one in a quick search. Rene Collins Maestejuan was Miss Rodeo Oregon back in 1973.

I'm looking at this page - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Oregon I can't tell you any details but I remember it as just one of those useless facts I know. I'm guessing I'm thinking of 1976 Shan Moss as listed from Nyssa. Maybe she claimed Jordan Valley sometimes? The talent listed as "flute" rings a bell in the back of my mind. My sister was friends with 1979 Tami Sanders so the pageant was something that my family was aware of and talked about.

Maybe Shannon won the Nyssa feeder but was from Jordan Valley?

We've been taking millions a year from the Oregon tax payers for decades. This is nothing new.
