Other than the fact we've done it seven or eight times since 2001, you may be right. No way you can just replace a back like Simonton. No way you can just replace a back like Jackson. No way you can just replace a back like Bernard. No way you can just replace a back like Quizz. No way you can just replace a back like Woods. No way you can just replace a back like Nall. No way you can just replace a back like Jefferson. No way you can just replace a back like Baylor. No way you can just replace a back like Martinez. (probably the only stretch in this list was Woods/Ward coming off of Quizz. and they were arguably two very effective backs in an era where we were super pass happy)And thin on the OL

Ain't no TV $ without eyes on the TV. I watched the least amount of college football I have ever watched in my adult life this past season. I exclusively watched OSU games. that is it. I already watched the NFL, but NIL has pushed me more fully that direction. LOL... there was TV and media contracts when viewership was tiny. First local, then regional, then national. Due to interest? Yep, but, fans did not pay. Paying for "TV" is relatively new in the overall history of broadcasting. The point is "fans" don't pay the bills. Advertiser's $ pay the bills whether a fan buys a product or not. Ads are a speculative investment. Speculation that leads to media dollars. Those dollars are then invested on further speculation of growth. Contracts are set for years, sometimes decades whether the viewership increases or not they are set. To say fans pay is false. Fans watch, advertisers base their ad $ on viewership, media bases their contracts on ad revenue. But, the majority of revenue doesn't come from advertisers for sports programing. And, to say cable and streaming fees are fans "paying" is also misleading. Those fees are overall revenue streams for ALL the broadcasts and sports make up a small % of overall viewership in terms of all broadcasts shown. Again fans don't "pay" even if they stream specifically for a sporting event... the revenue is for the complete package on that platform. Other than ESPN and other minor players, sports are a tiny part of overall viewing.. especially streaming. Saying your dollars led to ESPN's CFP contract is like saying my season tickets paid for Martinez's should pads. Media contracts are a speculative investment

It's fanatics that provided the money to make it a gold mine worth plundering. So we are not allowed to be bitter about being picked apart by the greedy pigs? Not making rules for anyone. Just saying you might be happier and healthier to not be invested in extremely rigged games.

If 400k was going to come his way then the NIL should split that money amongst several players to keep them here. He's single (I think) for tax purposes that's 140K in tax off the top. That's just fed tax liability, he'd also have additional state tax to pay. Let's say all said and done he nets around 200K. That's enough to live pretty good at his age in the here and now, but it's not buy your momma home type money and set for the next ten years type money.

Seems pretty cut and dry that he has been heavily influenced by Shawn O’Gorman. Goes by Agent OG on Instagram from first round management. Reps Austin, Gould and Grant.
I know it is the nature of the business in this era, but feels terrible as a fan to watch an agent push our talent away when he earns a paycheck from OSU produced players.
I hope Trent Bray and company can do their best to eradicate first round management on campus and in our program.
It is tough to watch current and former players applaud this Dame’s decision.

He will be working at Chipotle in 2027. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but he won’t be in the league. Too small and too slow. Slow maybe, but he played at over 230 lbs last year. That’s not small. And Andre the Giant was billed as 7’4”. People make s%#t up. Ain’t no way he was 230. No way.

He was 237 to start the season last year. And Andre the Giant was more like 7' to 7'2'". Saw him at an airport one time. Massive.

Looks like DM was looking to point a finger at something to justify entering the transfer portal. I will believe the collective over a player. DM isn't irreplaceable. DM acts like the collective should have bought him everything(house, car, etc.). Too much Me, Me, Me, and not of enough of We, We, We.

"...Martinez was provided an automobile between his freshman and sophomore seasons through an endorsement deal with an automobile dealership. Months later, Martinez wanted a different car..."
The entitlement mentality is off the charts. These guys are admittedly very talented at their sport. But, universities achieve greatness not because of primadona athletes...but rather because they prepare bright young minds for meaningful lives.
I love being a sports fan, but some perspective comes in handy.

I could cite so many examples, but he is showing he is a proud card carrying member of way too many of the Gen Z's and others. Sad. There was a time in a galaxy far, far away when a man's word was his bond. Not anymore.
