I think what you are missing here might be hinted at by reading these two articles together - the first was posted earlier, and identifies 4 possible "landing spots" for Dom's services:

Note that 2 of the four schools are Kentucky and Ped State.

Interesting that Penn State and Kentucky are mentioned as schools working the foreign NIL angle.

That said, it is quite possible that Dom was not happy to play in the WCC, regardless of the great success Gonzaga players had very recently in the WNBA draft, and she is looking for a P4 school where the team is a tight knit family and success is built not bought......
