Rueck has gotten OSU to the tournament eight times. In those eight appearances, Rueck led the Beavers to the Sweet 16 five times and the Elite Eight three times and to the Final Four once. That's a pretty high batting average. Can you clarify? Seems to add up to 9 The Beavers made it to the Sweet 16 five times out of the eight trips to the NCAA tournament. Three of those years they advanced from the Sweet 16 to the Elite Eight. One of those years they advanced from the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight to the Final Four.

So in 14 seasons, S16 (5) 35.7% E8 (3) 21.4% FF (1) 7.1% Must mean next year would have been like a 7.6% probability of an E8 if my compound events Math is remembered correctly? And, a 0.5% FF appearance based on SR's past seasons. A sure guarantee of ??

Or continued BS on how a P4 invite is eminent and necessary.

If you've not noticed they are dependent. Have to make the field (which I didn't include) to then move forward. Most realized that. And, that returning rosters aren't guaranteed postseason success. The victim's lament... if... would have, could have!

I wasn't implying anything about the players leaving another possible Elite Eight appearance behind. And a P4 invite is necessary, IMO. Never said it was imminent.

OSU's AD and programs will exist in some form and continue to strive for excellence. Necessary to be a bottom tier P4 AD/budget? To quell egos of some fans? True fans of OSU, the university and AD, will be there. And, most likely OSU will eventually land in a "lane" that is sustainable without huge debt and attempting to keep up with mid 9-figure ADs. Football is the driving force and OSU doesn't fit the landscape of the big boys in any way shape or form. The remodel of Reser is nice, but luxury of 35-37k seats isn't P4 football. Just because some current members of P4 conferences are similar to OSU isn't a salient point. They were members and are failing miserably to keep up. Their extra TV will make zero difference in their overall success. How long will they be part of that group? Who knows. But, my guess is that some if the big boys are going to grow tired of sharing media money equally, if at all. Until more is settled in many areas in glad OSU is where it's at for now.

I've watched OSU have plenty of success at the P5 level despite having a lower budget than most. Of course OSU isn't up there with the "big boys" because that's really just around 15-20 schools at the most. Reser is fine. I didn't like the decision to lessen the capacity, though if the MWC or something similar is the future, then it's more than fine. If the doom a gloom really does come to pass, everything will change drastically and it won't be limited to OSU, so I'm choosing to not worry about all that until much more is put in place. And until then, joining the ACC or Big 12 given the chance is a far cry better than any other option.
