To me it's obvious the move to the WCC was the catalyst for pretty much every key player on an Elite Eight team to leave. Again, if there was any question in the minds of the players, why did they all bolt instead of looking into what OSU backing NILs might be able to do for them? We've had the NIL for over 3 years now. It's nothing new at this point. If the Pac-12 had not lost 10 teams would all those players have left? IMO, TVO yes and probably Gardiner. I say Beers stays along with Paurova, Hunter and Hansford. Maybe not Adlee and Martha because of lack of playing time. You have one key thing wrong, and that's why you aren't getting it. And that's the last I'm saying on this. Seems to me you haven't said anything definitive anyway. I don't know anymore after reading your posts than before. You might just as well have said that all the girls loved their time here, but felt it was best for them to leave - the usual say absolutely nothing meaningful about why the exit that players post. In any event, leave they did and that's that. At the end of the day, they didn't give a crap about Beaver Nation, and my little corner of Beaver Nation doesn't give a crap about them |

If the difference in NIL money is so great that OSU is no longer capable of retaining good players then Rueck needs to take a significant pay cut moving forward or move on. No sense in investing real money into a program that is relegated and also a major money pit. What $ number would make you happy? I don't know. Do any other WCC WBB coaches make $1 million a year? For that matter, how many G5 WBB coaches make that money? |

My prediction. None of the departed players will play in another Elite Eight game. 2023/24 Oregon State will be the competitive pinnacle of their respective individual careers. Talia will be in the Final Four, I think. They are loaded and maybe their coach can coach after all. |

I don't like the posts saying I know inside information on the team and or players but out of respect for them I'm not telling you. Then with your thumbs in your ears, wiggling your fingers, sticking your tongue out and making funny sounds.
If this is you, I think there are two options. One is don't say anything. Two is (if the reputation of your user name is something you want to protect or your real identity) create a different account and just say what you know.
As an example and the following is obviously ridiculous fiction. "I know Beers very well. One of the times she missed a game an angel appeared and told her to transfer to Norman.
So if the truth is player felt disrespected by Rueck, or player was recruited by immoral state university and offered gobs of cash, or player decided to major in nanotechnology and OSU doesn't have that program, just say it.

I don't understand why a player in this era of professional college sports can't say they left for more money. Other reasonable explanations are: playing closer to home, wanting to study a subject at a school that excels in that area, wanting to play in a different system, hating the rain, the town being too small, etc. The only secret excuse could be player-player or player-coach conflicts/abuse. With everyone being vague about their reasons it points to the latter. Gonzaga's men's team competes for national championships in the WCC. This team had a chance to do the same. If that is not a reason to stay, I agree with other commenters that it is time to cut back on the red ink spilled on this program.

It wasn't because of the weather, or jobs. What's driving people in this country bananas right now? |
