I'm gettin' on in years, so I don't know if I am using the word "hack" right, but the hack to access subscription articles from the Oregonian on a personal computer is this:
1. Click on the link to the article you want to read. 2. When you arrive at the article, highlight and copy the title of the article. 3. Paste the article title into a common internet search engine 4. Press Enter.
The article will pop up on MSN and you can read for free.
Caveats:
1. It is very rare for me to read an article shortly after online-publication. For all I know, it may take time to for the article to appear on MSN. 2. It does not work on articles written by sources outside of the Oregonian. For example, you cannot read Jon Wilner articles using this method.

There is also an Oregonian Archive link that does not lock most articles. I don't have the link as I am out of town and on a different computer that the on that has the link. It has been posted on BH before..

This approach works exceedingly well; I use it sometimes: Copy the link to the article you wish to read. Go to archive.isPaste the article link in the box outlined in red. The article will appear shortly.
