Bobby Allison passed peacfully on 11/8/2024. He was an old school racer in NASCAR. His biggest moment was Winning the 1988 Daytona 500 with his son Davey finishing 2nd. R.I.P. Sad story. Bobby Allison actually was declared dead after an accident at the Miller High Life 500 at Pocono Raceway. He worked his way back from a vegetative state to re-learn day-to-day activities and regain most of his memories. (After the Miller High Life 500 accident, he had no memory of his Daytona 500 win throughout the rest of his life.) Bobby Allison tried to mount a comeback, but his younger boy, Clifford, died in a car crash at Michigan International Speedway on August 13, 1992. Bobby's older boy, Davey, died exactly 11 months later after head injuries suffered in a helicopter accident at the infield of Talladega on July 13, 1993. Bobby Allison's wife of 55 years, Judy, died a little less than nine years ago.

He also raced Indy cars among others. A true race car driver. Loved that #22 Miller High Life Buick!

He also raced Indy cars among others. A true race car driver. Loved that #22 Miller High Life Buick! Allison raced Indy cars in 1973 and 1975. His best finish was sixth at the California 500. He also finished 17th in the Michigan 500 and 25th at the Indy 500 all in 1975.
