OSU did a decent job of shutting down the Bear Raid passing attack of Cal which is similar to the Air Raid attack of WSU. Any thoughts on how well they will do again Falk and company this weekend?

OSU pass defense has actually been pretty decent this year - aside from a few spectacularly blown assignments in the CU and UW games. I'd say pass defense is easily the strength of this team - better than the rush offense. That said, for all the success we had against Cal's pass offense, they ran all over us. WSU has proven that they aren't afraid to run the ball if it's there for them (see uo game).

And I'm on record saying DeCoud will be an early round draft pick. We have some baller CB's. Safety and nickel back are not as strong. I like Chappell's nose for the ball, he's a gamer but he's not a physical freak, he's just playing out of his mind relative to his athleticism. Tough, heady, hard-nosed. Getting Williams back to play the nickel will help a lot for WSU.

Well, of course he is (sigh). Would we have it any other way as we prepare to face the conference's most potent passing attack?
I swear this program is snake-bit...

Well, of course he is (sigh). Would we have it any other way as we prepare to face the conference's most potent passing attack? I swear this program is snake-bit... I think there is something more to it. that more to it is a bad DL. no offense to Elu, whom is a beast, but we do not have a DL that can stuff the run. and our LB group, as a whole leaves a lot to be desired at times. what does that equal? 4 DBs on our team have 39 or more tackles through 7 games. Our top 10 tacklers go: LB, CB, LB, S, LB, CB, S, S, DL, DL Treston Decoud has 39 total tackles on the year, and not that many of them in pass coverage. the poor X man has like 51! our #1 CB is taking down a running back WAY, WAY too many times. You can't be having your 5'-10" 180'lb cover man going mano y mano on some 220 lb RB barreling at him that many times. Snake bit? maybe... self inflicted wounds is probably more like it. Smaller guys needing to make big tackles, a thin rotation, too many tackles on too few players. we have like 6 guys with 39 or more tackles, then nobody else on the team has more than 16 in 7 games.
