Man I hope so but there's a lot the Beavs need to clean up. First off, WSU (and specifically Leach's WSU) has matched up really well with the Beavs the last few years. Their offense has been almost unstoppable. They are not like Cal, where they funnel over half of the targets through one guy. Both Marks (who I think is one of the most underrated receivers in the conference) and Cracraft are both legit threats anywhere on the field. Decoud talked about the Beavs running a lot of zone against their crossing or "mesh" routes which is great to get more eyes on the QB and take away those quick underneath crossing routes but I still hope to see more re-routing of receivers off the ball (DBs/LBs getting their hands on the receiver and disrupting their timing and their "get offs" the LOS. Without the reroutes, Marks and Cracraft will find creases and Falk will hit them. Falk has a quick release and is a rhtyum passer, so sacking him and even pressures will be difficult to come by frequently so disrupt receiver timing.
Speaking of timing, the Beaver receivers' spacing and route running was pretty bad at UW (guys are running into each other in a 3X1 formation trying to run combos, guys in the same space at the end of the play running routes) just sloppy. And McMaryion and the receivers should know, if there's press man coverage or even a rolled up corner, you don't run a "hitch" as a receiver (unless you are running a "Smash" combo and you're trying to hold the Safety) but you need to Convert the route, to a "Fade". Not only did Hernandez run his hitch but McMaryion tried to throw to him... late! That is an absolute No NO for both QB and receiver. Those kinds of mistakes can't happen. That should have been a turnover and by percentages, is! Need the offense to consistently score TDs to match WSU (can't be a FG game). And WSU's defense is not great but it's better than Cal so running for almost 5-10 yds a carry probably aint happenin'!
Beavs will need to; control clock, make some plays in the passing game, win the TO battle, limit or eliminate unforced errors and have some 3 and outs on defense to have a chance of winning this game.
Hope we pull this one out but it'll be tough!
Go Beavs!

Too bad the Cougs aren't playing Colorado next Saturday instead of the weekend before Apple Cup, then I could believe they might be overlooking us.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know Egger's record with his picks this year?

I believe he said he was 6-1 on the radio earlier this week, with the lone blemish being the Cal game

I love the enthusiasm and hope but I am feeling like this game could actually go a little south on the Beavs, perhaps be a little ugly. We just have so many kids hurt and we just weren't that good even when we had all our starters. I hope I'm super wrong.
Go Bears!!
