everything they said. It really is a casual sports fan's dream. Not a great place to experience game action.

I get all of what you're saying baseba1111. It just seems so sacrilegious to me to say that an iconic stadium "sort of sux." Then again, I saw old Yankee Stadium in 2000, and I came away thoroughly unimpressed. On that trip I got to see Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, and Camden Yards. I have very fond, vivid memories of the latter two, but I remember almost nothing about Yankee Stadium other than I didn't like it.

I've parked in golf course and never had any issues, but I've also never been in a rush to get in or get out as I was staying fairly close by. As someone above said, it's a pretty laid back environment. You can get 65000 people in there and it still feels kind of empty. One of my all-time favorite games was in person down there - 2000 Beavs vs UCLA. 4'9" Johnny Smith throws for 350. McCall and Simonton each run for 100+, Maurer gets hit on a pass reception, ball goes directly into the arms of Robert Prescott for a long TD. McCall rips off a 60? 70? yard TD late to more or less seal the deal. That game for me was when I started thinking- hey, we might be legit! That was a fun one. I have parked on the golf course before. I would recommend that, because it is an interesting experience. I found the UCLA students to be annoying, but I seem like I bring that out in a lot of opposing fans, not as annoying as Arizona State and UNLV students but annoying. The giant Rose on the stadium. The Court of Champions. If it is a clear day, the San Gabriel Mountains. Great place to build a stadium. The stadium is old, though (built in 1922). I understand that there have been two different renovations, since I went, though, so it may be better. Still, the stadium hosts the oldest bowl game in the country and has done so for 93 out of the past 94 years. And the Rose Bowl has been the most highly-attended bowl game every year since 1945. It hosted four BCS national championships, five Super Bowls, the 1984 Olympic soccer final, and the 1994 World Cup final. A lot of history there. 4'8" Jonathan Smith threw for 351 in his trademark platforms. Simonton gets hurt but still runs for 108. McCall steps up and rushes for 148. The immaculate deflection happens. Smith to Maurer to Prescott for a just-as-they-drew-it-up 50 yard touchdown pass. McCall rips off a 66-yard touchdown carry with 1:52 left and runs into the stands to hug his mom (which probably would be a penalty today). Erickson inexplicably kicks an extra point. UCLA scores a "touchdown," when a Bruin receiver catches a ball lying on his back out of bounds, and then proceeds to recover the onside kick. One of the worst-officiated games (both ways) that you will ever seen. Housh had a long punt return touchdown called back on a phantom penalty that would have put Oregon State up 28-24. Instead, UCLA goes up 31-21. The Beavers score 23 straight. Antonio Battle has the most important 22-yard carry of his career. A procedure penalty prevented a fumble in the end zone. Wild game.
