Beavs figure out how to win at UCLA. They thump UA. Then, win and cover their favorite spread in the not so Civil War. Any takers?

I'm hoping they come out fairly healthy from UCLA so we can suit down enough to beat Zona and be competitive vs a team that can still put up 50 with the run game.

What concerns me - besides being a road game - is that UCLA has some athletes on defense that can create sacks and turn people over. They are tenuous on offense without Rosen, and have been a poor running team, but with a weak pass rush we will most likely give their QB time to set up and throw. We have not been good against the run at all, so UCLA will test us. We have got to hold our ground in that area and force them to execute in the passing game. This game has the potential to be 28-24 if our offense executes, or 10-7 if it doesn't, but we don't turn the ball over and our D doesn't allow them to run. Either situation could end in a Beaver win, but it could also be 24-7, and if it is, I don't like our chances of winning.

Beavs have been close this year. They learn how to finish this weekend. Beavs win at UCLA. Close score, but not a nail biter.
Fans get amped for AZ, Sharks sense blood in the water and the D out scores AZ, the O starts to get rhythm. Beavs win 2 in a row!
Schmucks come into Reser on a slide and demoralized. Beavs take revenge, fans want more, they rush the field and OSP allows them. Goal posts head off to the MU quad.
So it is said, so shall it be.

Good qb play and beavs could win all three games. Mediocre qb play and lose all three. Need some elevated play out of that position. A road win would be awesome and would set the table for the last two home games which are winnable. All I really want is to send the fowls back to the death star beaten down. It's been way too long.

I keep seeing comments about our weak pass rush, and I don't really think it's all that horrible considering our schedule so far and the experience level of our front 7 on D. For instance, while not a leader in sacks or tfls, Ohio State has all of 4 more sacks and 5 more tfls this season... and the Beavs are among the top in the nation for fumbles recovered this season, which says to me there is some havoc being created. It wouldn't surprise me if the pass rush looks to be improved the next three games. I think next year the same kids should look much better with some experience under their belts.

QB play has been better than defensive play. You'll see right away today what will matter. UCLA has had NO running game all year. If they can run at all on us it will be a long day. They have the horses and are way underperforming. Buddy down there said that the announcement of Rosen being out for the season is suspicious as Mora has been noncommital and Rosen has said he cant damage it worse?! The back up can throw... but can also throw it to the other team. We make them one dimensional we have a chance. This game and the remainder are not on the shoulders of the QB. Never has been in this so called scheme(s) or whatever it is we are trying to be on offense. You can't blame a QB when the offense has no identity... kind if hard to develop and improve in that regard.

The offense seems talented but without anyone talented to actually evaluate and implement strategy and call plays. With the defense, the strategy is in place, and Oregon State still cannot stop the run. I believe that is lack of talent but I also believe that a lack of talent is a problem with the defensive strategy and the difficulties of recruiting 5-star linebackers to Corvallis.
