With my 15 year old boy. Saw some fellow Beavers on UCLA campus but not many in the airports. Go Beavs! Good job, Spud! Do your part and see if you can cheer the Beavers to a Pac-12 road victory. Each week, after the Cal game, I've watched our upcoming opponent in their 1-hour Pac-12 Network replay to see how I thought the Beavers might match up. Going into the Utah game, I felt that we matched up well. Going into the UW game, all I could say was that I felt that the Beavers would keep it closer than the 38-point point spread. Going into the WSU game, I was shaky but felt that it was possibly a good matchup. Going into the Stanford game, I felt we matched up well and was even going so far as to predict a Beaver win (in the privacy of my own home). UCLA? Hmmm....well.... I think Fafaul is getting it figured out. I think the Beavers are going to need you and your son to cheer really loudly. Go Beavs! Mike '84

Well, we gave it a shot! Must not have cheered loud enough. The pick six was obviously a back breaker. Too bad. Hungalu is a man! I still hate the 3-4, and am doubtful we can get the personnel on the line to make it work. Not enough pressure on the qb! Need the dudes who do get through to break down and not fly by like a missile. Hopefully they learn because I love how they play. Chappel plays with great intensity, as do his secondary teammates. Good to see Villamin at the end (not the fumble). Maybe that will help him regain his confidence. I don't understand the reluctance to get Collins the ball!!! Give him the ball in space and watch him go man! I don't get it. Great heads up play by Dockery! Need to beat Arizona while sitting Nall.
Met some really nice UCLA fans. Thanked us for coming. No problems. Love the Rose Bowl.
Go Beavs!

I finally saw some ability for our receivers to get some separation last night, Bolden, Hernandez, Villamin all looked good against a very high caliber secondary. The problem is the QB, exemplified by that last interception. Bolden had just made his move to the inside and was open for a big play. What does MM do ? He throws it directly to the 'lost' defender. He is very slow and makes really bad decisions. Some key play calling was also suspect, especially in the red zone. However, I again was proud of the defensive effort - even with all of the absurd mounting injuries. Some of the officiating was suspect - but I don't ever like to go down that path. Hungalu is a monster as is Decoud. Harlow had a horrible game - but that guy has some serious talent that is still in development. If he was in better football shape, he would be doing fine. We desperately need that QB piece. Artavius is a reliable short yardage guy and receiver - he never makes a mistake and plays hard. All he needs is a good block or two. Wish we had kept that 4 star from Florida. Go Beavers !

It was likely an option route that the two players read differently. Could have been Bolden, could have been McMaryion. Would have to ask one of them I suspect.
