An innovative coach with a really big brain is going to figure out that you can run the shotgun spread option AND also teach your QB to take a snap under center in a goal line set and run straight ahead for 2 yards near the goal line. UCLA did the same thing.. seen it with Cal, WSU and plenty of others... kills me every time.
Until then the concept is apparently way out there in the future with flying cars and time travel.

Four downs to get 3 yards. Put it in MCM hands and he almost throws a pick 6. Put him under center, line up Ortiz at FB and gash them 4 times! TOUCHDOWN!

Lol How many pick 6s has he thrown? How many in the red zone/goal line area? Yep none! But... did we nit go under center earlier in the game in a few short yardage? Were we not successful? So... that would be on the coaches, right?

The very first drive of this season Garretson lined up under center. So its in the play book.

After last night McM has now thrown two picks 6's Yep... one on poor communication... happens almost every game in the NFL. The other read a terible play call from our own goal line... that many say was also interference. Hes the best QB on the roster... hands down. GA had 2 classes to bring in better and an experienced JC. He did not. As of now we're no better off next year... 3 below average returners... 2 guys with zero D1 game experience. Who's fault is that?

I agree McM is by far our best QB on the roster.

I think McM throws better trajectory of a ball but Garretson was allowed/or "can" run the ball. How much did Blount even play? I forgot. seems like all the QB's have accuracy issues with Garretson being by far the worst throwing out of bounds constantly and flat trajectory.
I really hope Lufton comes in and is serviceable right away for next 2 years.

He picked a bad time to lecture someone about reading comprehension on the recruiting board.

One of these days maybe we will get an innovative coach with a real big brain that also won't call flat routes to the RB on the short side of the field and give him nowhere to run. Or like you said, line your QB and RB 5-7 yards away from the LOS when you have two feet to gain. It is the simple things man. Be smart. Situational awareness.
