Two wins on the road! How many road wins last year; two? It wasn't always pretty, but I love this team. They have amazing potential. Payton really hit his stride and Duvivier shot much better. The young guys are all showing flashes of greatness as well as room for improvement. I'm ok with that because I think Tinkle (Sr.) is the real deal. The guy coaches non-stop and can be almost as entertaining as the game.
Hang on folks; it's going to be a wild ride.

Yes. After 4 games we have equaled our road win total from last year of two.
Thank gawd for men's and women's hoops and baseball, huh?

Agree, was great to see Payton getting more aggressive, while still picking his opportunities - he really looked comfortable and confident. Great to see him be able to carry the team if needed, and it was at times in this game. Really, really nice to get two Ws on this road strip.
I thought this game exposed our young bigs when playing with their backs to the basket (maybe last game did as well, wasn't able to see it). This is where getting Gomis and Reid back will be huge, Reid in particular. Our young bigs aren't yet able score effectively in the paint without our guards drawing the D for them and giving them easy opportunities facing the basket. Additionally, I sure hope they don't let us go -8 on the offensive boards, especially against a smaller team.
Our forwards went 1-13 from the field - not a recipe for success. Fortunately Tres gets to the line and makes them, otherwise the production from our 3/4 positions would have been really ugly. Tres looks like a shooter, but he's struggling with the range finder. Just a rough game for LMW and Shaft.

LMW has shown when he does not have to be "The Man" he can score. MD looks much more comfortable. GPII is GPII he's going to get his and make everyone better when he does.
This team despite my earlier skepticism could be very good. Tuesday will be a good test against a team that has gone dancing two of the last three years.
Agree Wayne Tinkle is the real deal and if we continue on this trajectory I expect that other schools will come knocking. The combination of personality, philosophy, and character is a sure recipe for success. No doubt he can recruit .
Have not been this excited since GP was a SR.

Valpo is going to be tough, good thing OSU gets a break off for a bit while Valpo plays the ducks.

Looks like Valpo, now 5-1, gave the sucks all they could handle; eventually losing 67-73. Hopefully the Valpo boys are worn out and feeling home sick by Tuesday. Hoping for a good crowd at Gill. Anyone know if the students have classes through Wednesday?

Classes run through Wednesday officially, but a lot of the profs are cancelling classes, so some students at least will head out early Tuesday I would imagine.
