Last night there was a really weird penalty called against the Beavs when they were on defense. I had never heard of it before, and neither had Mr. 07, which is really weird because he knows football really well. The spirit of it seemed to be that the defensive signals were interfering with the offensive signals, but I was so perplexed that I don't even remember the wording.
Anyone know what that was?
Even though he was so frustrating, a buddy of my husband's and I used to be endlessly amused with Jay Stricherz and his seeming love of hearing himself talk. I remember in an early season game in 2013, he called "false start, everyone but the center" against the Beavs, and used to say things like "The down is one," or announce that the game had ended, so husband's buddy and I were joking that he was behind the whole call. Like "Just make something up--but make me proud!!"

OSU was called for that against UW as well, UCLA also complained about it but it was never called. You can't start mimicking the QB's cadence nor voice to draw the o-line offside (false start).

I believe it's "disconcerting signals." Mrs. Nabeav asked me about it when I got home last night.

Anderson was pissed and was letting the official know it. Oregon State's defense shifts right before the snap and they call out a call right before they do it. According to Anderson, it is legal. The officials called the penalty stating that the defense was trying to simulate the snap count to trick the offense into moving. It is a fine line. Teams have been doing it for years and it is rarely called, but other teams have brought it to the officials attention so OSU is getting it called against them.
