Does the BYU Coach have to sign the Chaste oath like the players/students do? No, because they're usually married. To one or more women.

Hmmmmm... from BYU/devote Mormon background to Virginia and very tough recruiting ground and tough academic entry standards. I thought he'd move on, but not East... anyone else see that as a 'step down'? (except for the pay check) How can you disregard the paycheck? Isn't that the reason to work? Power 5 Conference > Independent End of story.

And some people do take smaller paychecks for family, happiness, location, etc all the time

That will be rough.

wonder what the list of LDS coaches to choose from looks like for BYU?? It is short as they have to be aMormon in good standing. You can bet Sitake is on it.

Sitake must be kicking himself. First he takes his lumps as Utah transitioned to the Pac-12, and leaves just before they finally achieve some good success and break through to the upper eschelon of the conference. And now, if he was still with Utah after the year they had, he very well might have been at the top of BYU's list for a head coach. But he left, and I think any AD would be crazy to hire the guy that was in charge of the defensive performance that OSU had this year.
GO BEAVS!

I dunno. most ADs, and most reasonable fans also take the situation into account. Sitake lead a bad defense yes... but one that lost 9 starters from last year and one that switched to a new scheme and one that played musical players as they started dropping like flies... Personal, I disliked his shift to a 3-4 in this year, but that is just me.
