Please consider that there seem to be as many people and Beaver fans that feel quite the opposite. I don't want to re-enter the discussion but you opened it up. Many feel he deserves it, and that the crime (that took place over two years!) is disgusting. Having said that, I hope he gets drafted, but if he thinks his past will go away he's sorely mistaken. Nothing can ever change the past. Funny thing about time, and you know... lack of time travel or a real world Doc Brown... We live in a country were we just elected an admitted sexual abuser and a man that beat and raped his first wife as president of the United States. Something tells me, despite all the righteous indignation of it all, people will move past this. People have the attention span of gnats. some new drama will unfold that will make this all yesterday's forgotten news. Look: www.ajc.com/sports/football/vick-white-honored-falcons/qWvz0QjyiyMiQf4GGuMdNJ/even Mike Vick can come back and be respected... Most of your statements about the President of the United States are based on some allegations and the rest of your statements are outright fabrications. What Michael Vick did pales in comparison to what Luke Heimlich did. Dogs are not six-year-old girls.

(please)...Back on the topic of "will he be drafted". Because there's already a bunch of threads, as there should be, to debate right and wrong, redemption vs. retribution, and all.
One thing about draft outlook that we'll never get the inside dope on is this: if any team is actively considering adding Luke to their organization...and they've already gone through the public relations calculus...they would certainly contact and interview Heimlich, Casey, Yeskie, people outside baseball in the Oregon State administration and others to thoroughly evaluate the current and potential future character aspects of the draftee they are considering. They will certainly not limit their research to Danny Moran, John Canzano, etc.

Luke "Heimlich doesn't deserve this crap?" Seriously, bro? Heimlich is reaping what he sows. There are a lot better people who have had to endure much more than Heimlich. (The six-year-old girl he sexually assaulted perhaps?) And if this "crap" is the worst punishment that he receives, he is one lucky duck in my book. There are some disgusting and dark elements within the media firestorm that is surrounding Heimlich, but they all pale to Heimlich's vile, disgusting, and dark act. The mainstream media warp, twist, and sensationalize. It is in their nature. It is what they do. Being mad at them is like being mad at a wolf for killing livestock. It is in their nature. It is what they do. Just like everybody in the world, I want Heimlich to live a happy, healthy, and productive life. I want Heimlich to make this world a better place to live. Throwing a ball well does not make this world a better place to live. And his prior actions may have foreclosed him from the privilege of doing so going forward. If so, I hope that he really concentrates on balancing out his prior bad actions with good works in the community and in the world that make people's lives better, that make this world a better place to live in. Even more demoralizing than what Heimlich did is Beaver fans defending him, turning Heimlich into the victim. It is so perverse and backwards. I really do not want to discuss this further. Then why do you always chime in... and with lengthy posts?

If you're ever going to take a flier on a guy with red flags, we are now officially in that territory.

Get drafted - he may be stuck in limbo due to the unknown if he'll be allowed to play at OSU in 2018, no leverage, has to take whatever they offer. If he can get two teams to bid each other up as a free agent with 2nd round talent....

Make that 33 rounds.. 7 to go... kersting13 I agree, I would guess if signed as a free agent it's also slightly(?) better from a PR standpoint for the MLB club.
