Philips says Hodgins didn't play because they went to 2-receiver sets, which included Villamin and Collins. They'll be back to 3-receiver sets this week.
So Hodgins doesn't see the field if there are only 2 receives on the field at the same time? He's out of the rotation? Strange.

In the light of Togiai getting injured (or so we were told) and not playing at all, it stretches credibility that pulling one of your better players was a good overall decision. If you are down your best TE, why are you in multi TE sets? Just another expert "game planning" decision from this clown show, right up the alley of "we didn't run Nall because we wanted to attack the edge". Its like our coaching staff is doing our opponent's DC a favor every week. Why game plan for their skill players when OSU takes them out of the game for us!!!

If they went two TE sets, I’m sure it was because they were terrified of the pass rush of UW. I actually thought there were more two back sets than in the past.

That's one thing to consider.

Not only does this staff lie and clueless... they are as bad at it as they are at coaching.

Hawkins, Bradford and Hernandez all played... did they get moved to TE??? It’s normal when you run a two reciever set some of the time that you play your #1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 recievers during the game. Every team that has a two reciever formation benches their 3rd best receiver for the game.

So my new theory is that Hodgins was unhappy with the number of two WR sets they were going to run and he complained about it, so the staff taught him a lesson, and now are taking the heat so as not to blast a kid for a temper tantrum.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? Yes, very possible. Which means the coaching staff should all say something to the effect of "It's an internal matter that is being dealt with within the team." The staff's responses to this simple question have created much more furor than necessary. Not smart.

Doesn't really matter, at least he will be able use redshirt season for whatever school he transfers too in January and still play 3 more years.

Thoughts? I'm honestly questioning if they're that smart, or credible.

He has offers from San Jose State and Yale with WSU showing interest as well so my guess is he would end up somewhere else when his brother leaves. Wouldn't be surprised if both ended up in Pullman.
