Today's game leads me to think we've got some wins ahead.

Agreed. I'll add parts of the UW game, as well, esp. the defense in the first half of that game. 

The score of this game could have been a little closer without some key miscues by the offense deep in SC territory. Garretson showed that he can actually throw downfield. I also feel good about our RB contingent. 

I think we could get 1 or 2 more wins out of this year, with an outside shot at 3. 

No offense korculabeav, six minutes into the game I thought they would drop 70 on us. OSU moved the ball, they failed to punch it in but against some teams that could change. You do realize this was USC? Do you realize USC's water boy and team manager were probably recruited by more schools than most of the players we face the rest of the year? We are really overmatched against them athletically, and we don't have the scheme to compete wth them at this point. Compared to the UW game though, our offense was much improved, 319 tops 180 any day. I did not say it was good, but it's improved and when we hit a softer team it should work better. I think we've really got a shot at winning a couple games later this season... hardly satisfying but it sure would beat losing them all.

Garretson will not be the reason the beavs win a game. Beavs might win in spite of him or if he manages the game enough that he manages not to throw it away. He just doesnt throw the ball well enough for this conference.  He is not a passing quarterback and he isn't going to make enough plays with his legs to be a threat.  

That said,  you are correct about the D.  Some good things seem to be happening on that side of the ball. Could trip somebody up in the remainining constests if we get some cheap TDs to stake a lead.

Colorado is better than us... significantly so... in almost every important stat. So, what does that make OSU if they are "not good"?

And, I realize you trend toward not reading posts or interpreting in an personal way.

NOTE... You said "other not good" teams. That equates OSU and Colorado as similar. I didn't argue, but stated statistical facts to show we are not on equal footing by objective means. (What does fan board chatter have to do with whether a team is better than another by statistical measures? And, if so, you doubt that Buff fans still expect to win Saturday?) I then asked a question which you chose not to answer, but indeed argue a point I never made. My post may have been sarcasm, but certainly not an argument... as that would indicate I stated our future schedule was full of good teams.

I understand all the points you people who say we won't win another game are making and I largely agree with them. It would not surprise me if we do not win another game. 

On the other hand...yes, I do see improvement in defense: Keeping UW and SC down to 42 and 38 points, respectively, is an improvement over the 58 CSU (CSU!!) and the 48 Minnesota (Minnesota!!) dropped on us. Our defense is getting better against much stronger games. In fact, if we had won the CSU and UM games in tight contest, losing to UW 42-7 and SC 38-10 would not alarm me in the slightest. After our first 3 games, I thought both of those teams were going to drop at least 55 and more likely 60 on us. 

I saw improvement on the offense against SC, as well. Garretson was able to complete more that just RB swing passes and screens; he actually threw a few downfield. It gives me some hope. No interceptions. Collins and Hodgins are good receivers. 

Special teams? There are some decent things there. Porebeski is putting the ball where no one, not even Pettis from UW, can return it. That'll help.

A lot of the criticism that others are mentioning I agree with and have posted such: Garretson will most likely not win games on his own, I have zero trust in the staff to game plan, our rush D is weak, etc. However, the Beavs have shown signs of decency against both UW and SC of late, and even did a couple decent things against WSU. Not by any stretch would I bet on OSU to win more games this season, but I think it is realistic to believe that they can. I think they will win one or two more.
