I hope this is true. He's a stud and that's a big time upgrade over Woods.

Per Danny Moron Twitter. Current AZ OL coach. Been pretty successful with a very young line at times. also, I chuckle that if this is true, how wildly bad footballscoop has been missing the mark on this whole deal! hahahaha.

How great is it that we are getting these guys from other P12 schools? Testament to their belief in CJS, and the increase in staff salary pools.

Related to your post on the other thread - that's 2 solid Pac-12 guys that we've poached. And JM is what.. a 15 year Pac-12 o-line coach? I'm on your hype train.

If true, looking at his bio, I really like this hire on paper. Recruited WA, OR, and NoCal at Arizona, tons of experience, and I really like that he coached a little in NFL. Not bad for a kid who wants to get to the NFL to see that his position coach has been in coach there.

He coached Tight Ends here on the Fiesta bowl team and I thought turned out two of the best blocking TE's that OSU has had. Bennie Johnson and Marty Mauer. Ken Simonton gained a lot of yardage running behind them.

Not specifically but we had a helluva offensive line, used our tight ends effectively and I want to say our special teams were pretty good during this period. This looks like a SOLID hire !!

I don’t remember him, as I was in high school at the time. Reading his bio though, I am impressed. He has coached OL for many different schemes. Very pumped so far on the two confirmed hires.

Jimmy Mac is a great guy. I think his wife was a volleyball player at Wazzu.

He's been to 15 bowl games. You have to at least occasionally run the ball and block someone to do that! I forgot what it's like to be in a bowl game.

Great guy... did do TE's but was Gregg Smith's right hand man with the OL... About as good of get as possible for OL/asst HC in charge of the run game. Plus, he no longer has to put up with Rich Rod and completely rebuilding the OL there.

Definitely remember him. If true, this seems like a great hire for Smith.
