Completely echo your sentiment and would like to see Beaver Nation come together an unite behind JS, his staff, and team. When I read critical comments from posters who have already made up their minds and aren't willing to give JS, his staff, and his team an honest chance before passing judgement, it is hard to temper my response. I've seen what a vocal minority is capable of when left unchallenged. When the silent majority stays silent we end up with things like ethanol in our gas. I thought we were not going to get personal - my gas problem is not open for public debate.

We've lost some posters over the last 24 hours, four2itus, sandiegobeaver; deleted their accounts. Allegedly youngorst is done. A couple of other professed to be leaving. It's too bad that people can't follow the Benny's House rules. They are simple and I can't/won't police every post in every thread. In my opinion, some of those losses have more to do with the MR poll then the normal give and take of a message board. When you find out your opinion is an extreme minority point of view on the board (last I checked it was running about 10% to 90%) and when that opinion is extremely important to your view of OSU football, it looks like some have decided that they don't want to be part of a board that views them as that far outside the mainstream. I'm not sure they will come right out and say that is why they are leaving, but the declining number of those with NO vote on the MR poll indicate that members who voted NO are no longer members and they are no longer able to vote in a poll. Based on past posts one could guess with fairly good accuracy that 2 of the 3 that left were in the majority.

I’ve been thinking lately about my behavior on this message board and I don’t like some of what I’ve reflected on. It made me think about why I log into Benny’s House in general, but particularly about my own pettiness. Simply, I love OSU and all things to do with OSU athletics. I don’t know a lot of people in my day to day who remotely care about this stuff like I and all of you on this board do. I love to express my thoughts and read those of others regarding our team. I think that I’m a great Beaver fan, but I’m pretty ashamed of how I ripped on the team and CGA this year. I’m not applying any expectation to what any of you chose to say, but I personally beat the obvious to death. I don’t think he dod this program any favors, but I didn’t need to pile on. Most recently, I have made some harsh comments toward posters who don’t like Mike Riley. While I may completely disagree with the rationale used for that and personally admire the guy, it’s not my place to tell you how to think, and certainly not right to put you down or resort to name-calling. It’s like I feel the need to defend people who don’t need me to defend them. It’s so strange how topics on this board can get me fired up as much as truly critical world issues (sometimes more). It’s great to bleed orange, but I need a dose of perspective. I want to apologize to any of you that I have treated with that disrespect. At the end of the day, I don’t want to be that guy who hides behind a keyboard passively-aggressively attacking other people. It is not who I am, and I’m sure that the people who know me best would be surprised and probably disappointed at my childishness here at times. I know I can be passionate about OSU, yet civilly disagree with divergent opinions here. My goal in 2018 will be to come here for news and people’s takes, and leave my ego at the door. I’m sure that I won’t always have my A-game, but I’ll definitely aim higher. Like the day you went off on me and called me a Duck lol. No worries. I enjoy your posts here, and I enjoyed them on Pure Orange.

When I trust someone, whether it be family, friend, coworker, coach, or what have you, I keep my concerns private. Back them publicly, scold them privately. That's just the way I was taught. I trust JS and this is a public forum, so should I break from that practice, by all means let me have it.

Is this thread really in the football section? Should be in the pillow fight area. Sheesh... Toughen up people! In a nice, empathetic way of course.

Maybe Glove should put in a section called "Pillow fight!!" where argumentative threads can move to and politics can be allowed (I still think the lack of a section allowing that causes a lot of painful bleed-over on to the football board). You've got an idea there.
