For future reference I will not accuse you of not supporting the coach when you express concerns and I would hope for the same treatment. When I trust someone, whether it be family, friend, coworker, coach, or what have you, I keep my concerns private. Back them publicly, scold them privately. That's just the way I was taught. I trust JS and this is a public forum, so should I break from that practice, by all means let me have it. That is loaded statement as I have seen you post more than concerns about people I trust.

That is loaded statement as I have seen you post more than concerns about people I trust. I can neither agree, or disagree with what you say you've seen. You miss the point. Virtually every person in a public position is a person of trust to someone, therefore you can never publicly express concerns. This is your stance, not mine. I do not agree with it. It comes off as a statement of convenience. You cannot speak critically of the people I trust, but I can of others that I do not trust.

Here's what I said, look closely at the bold part in particular: "When I trust someone, whether it be family, friend, coworker, coach, or what have you, I keep my concerns private."
People I don't trust are another story.

I’ve been thinking lately about my behavior on this message board and I don’t like some of what I’ve reflected on. It made me think about why I log into Benny’s House in general, but particularly about my own pettiness. Simply, I love OSU and all things to do with OSU athletics. I don’t know a lot of people in my day to day who remotely care about this stuff like I and all of you on this board do. I love to express my thoughts and read those of others regarding our team. I think that I’m a great Beaver fan, but I’m pretty ashamed of how I ripped on the team and CGA this year. I’m not applying any expectation to what any of you chose to say, but I personally beat the obvious to death. I don’t think he dod this program any favors, but I didn’t need to pile on. Most recently, I have made some harsh comments toward posters who don’t like Mike Riley. While I may completely disagree with the rationale used for that and personally admire the guy, it’s not my place to tell you how to think, and certainly not right to put you down or resort to name-calling. It’s like I feel the need to defend people who don’t need me to defend them. It’s so strange how topics on this board can get me fired up as much as truly critical world issues (sometimes more). It’s great to bleed orange, but I need a dose of perspective. I want to apologize to any of you that I have treated with that disrespect. At the end of the day, I don’t want to be that guy who hides behind a keyboard passively-aggressively attacking other people. It is not who I am, and I’m sure that the people who know me best would be surprised and probably disappointed at my childishness here at times. I know I can be passionate about OSU, yet civilly disagree with divergent opinions here. My goal in 2018 will be to come here for news and people’s takes, and leave my ego at the door. I’m sure that I won’t always have my A-game, but I’ll definitely aim higher. Like the day you went off on me and called me a Duck lol. No worries. I enjoy your posts here, and I enjoyed them on Pure Orange. Like I said, no worries at all. You're a great Beaver! Thanks for all your contributions here.

One thing we can all agree on..... FTd!!!! Go Beavs!! Well said. And...the hatchet Beaver logo sucks *ss Bring back Sailor Benny! Sailor Benny? Ahoy!... I don't think so. He doesn't swab the deck or live on a boat! He is wearing an old school college beenie. I refer to this Benny as Colligate Benny or Academic Benny....and hell yeah he looks happy... he gets to walk on beautiful campus, with new buildings, checkout co-eds and earn a degree that actual is meaniful compared to one from U of Zero. He is still my favorite! We then went on to what I called Angry Beaver, and now to Cyber Beaver. I like Cyber Beaver, modern and forward thinking. Hatchet Beaver? That's just wrong...sounds like a serial killer... or maybe he was the old lead singer for Molly Hatchet Beaver! Lol

We've lost some posters over the last 24 hours, four2itus, sandiegobeaver; deleted their accounts. Allegedly youngorst is done. A couple of other professed to be leaving. It's too bad that people can't follow the Benny's House rules. They are simple and I can't/won't police every post in every thread. That’s just sad to hear...All three of them contributed with posts. Whether or not you agreed with them, they added to discussions and loved the Beavs. Maybe this is just alarmist, but I feel like if some people don’t get their crap together and start respecting other views then this board will lose a lot more people. Not sure how you feel, but I won’t read a board where the same few people are the only ones to contribute. I LIKE a variety of opinions, even when they RESPECTFULLY disagree with me. GoBeavs92 and I disagreed about Tedford, for example. Guess what? He didn’t change my mind, and I didn’t change his. However, it was a fun exchange, and it was done courteously as two Beaver fans. No name calling or insults needed. I learned a lot about Tedford, that’s for sure 😀 Glove, no one expects you to take time to police the boards, even if you wanted to. I for one appreciate your work in giving us a place to talk about our beloved Beavers. I hope it lasts. I have decided to return. I came back on last night for the first time, as I have really missed posting here. First, an explanation.... As a fan who has posted on sports sites for decades, I have seen the trends and changes in how fans react and interact with each other. To keep it short and respectful as I can and still give context....many of today's younger sports fan is built a different way from those of us who may be older. That, of course could be said of any generation, but this is profound in a societal changing aspect. The invention of video games, the explosion of high speed special effects in movies, smart phones, and the like all contribute to hyper activity for your brains frontal lobe. It can and does become an addiction. It creates severe unrest and impatience. In addition, social media has brought confrontation, argument, and dissension to heights among people, and the chemical release inside one's mind and body when acting on this confrontation is addicting as well. In short, there is great unrest among those who grew up using computers and cell phones, and the idea of peace, acceptance, and relaxation have been traded for judging, arguing, and battling to a large degree. However, even though I struggle to interact with fans that I have described above, I am still a Beaver fan, and this is heads above the best place to be. I am challenging myself to be more tolerant of those different than me, and try to insert good knowledge and information where it may add to the quality of the board.

I think it has more to do with the make-up of the board and the mods than the age of posters. I frequently post on an MLB team board and it's filled with a lot of younger people, and just about everyone there is a reasonable, respectful poster. New people pop up now and again, and generally the cranky, less reasoned people who join get annoyed by the general tone of the board, and either change their tune or return to the newspaper or Facebook boards where you can be an ass all the time.
