It's an opinion, but who cares. We got the Bronze. Only the Frost and Kelly hires rated better. Which of course means, FSU, Hole, Ta&m, ASU, Florida, Tennessee, all graded lower. Maybe the writer is a Beav?
SI Ranks the coaching hires
In all seriousness, anyone know if Baldwin interviewed for HC job anywhere besides OSU? UTEP? Rice? SMU? Nothing against the guy, but I'm convinced that would have been a huge mistake by OSU. What assistants would he have been able to bring in here to help him right this ship? Recruits would have jumped ship.
I'm starting to think Smith was the smartest hire OSU could make, maybe even better than a big name.

There has been virtually no buyer's remorse after Smith's hire. Yeah sure that's just my take. But what do you expect?

BB's overriding liability is that he's not a Div. 1 guy, not yet anyway. If and when Cal has some sustained success offensively over a period of a few years, then I think he's a more viable HC candidate. CJS is already there, as evidenced by the coaching staff he's been able to put together so far. And I believe more are coming.

Getting 3rd in the large field of hires is "dammed" impressive! Look at the first two and those are Big Names. Who besides us ever heard of JS? Someone studied the situation beyond the glitter and glamour to pick our guy #3.
3 is the square root of 9. Hey, I'll take any lucky numbers I can find these days...LOL!
Go get 'em Jonathan!

Our Jonathan is as tough as Jonathan E! Weird parallels to consider? The original movie "Rollerball" is set in 2018, and Jonathan E's uniform is orange and black. The movie ends with Jonathan E, wearing orange and black, skating around the rink with the crowd chanting, "Jonathan!" Hopefully, Jonathan C does something similar at year's end in Santa Clara........

I meant that to be 'Power 5'. Thanks for the correction.
