This has been puzzling me since bowl season began. I have never been involved in an offense that uses multiple player shifts and wonder how it is communicated in the huddle in a way that's not overly complicated/confusing to the players.
A typical play call I'm familiar with would include; formation call, H-alignment, any motion call, play call, direction call, and snap count. Obviously in the no huddle offenses none of that is done. But teams like Boise, Stanford, Wisky, UW and others are executing a lot of multiple player shifts and sometimes double shifts and I'm really curious how that's communicated in the huddle without a QB reciting an entire paragraph to run just one play. I'm sure coaches have figured out a way to make it short and simple, but I'd sure like to see an example to satisfy my curiosity.
Surely someone here has some experience with play calling multiple player shifts.
