lol literally, it started the day after the civil war...again.
The ultimate point I originally was making before it drifted off into a battle of 2015 vs 2018 is Smith could basically do no better than CGA during his 3 years and very few are going to drag his ass like they do CGA. In fact, they will probably still blame CGA. Which is obvious of course, he's a Beav, I even said I'll be guilty of it. I knew posting it I'd have to deal with some hyperbolic nonsense. From an outsiders perspective, perception differs.
Regardless, there's more hope baked in to hiring a Beaver legend like Smith than, well, anyone. More pressure too, I'm sure Smith feels it, and I'm still confident he'll get it turned around. Just an average defense translates into 2 or 3 more wins with this team. I think you're giving a little more credit to this supposed "Jonathan Smith Alumnus" goodwill than it deserves. Hell, JS actually improved this team's record from last season. CGA went minus 3 in year one in the win column. I don't recall CGA getting his "ass dragged" terribly in year 1 for doing a much s%#ttier job than CJS has done. I'd call any goodwill than Smith is receiving more "first year coach" goodwill, than "He's one of us" goodwill. We've got Beavernut dragging Smith's ass one year after he said CGA should get 6 years to build the program. Yeah... but, really consider the source. He's one of a few here that are either "trolls" or completely out in the nether reaches! Good times...

Bingo and after such a schitty job in 15' a good ass dragging through some tall grass was charitable treatment.

Still chuckle each time I see the original post.
Beavs improve substantially in every offensive category: OFFENSE BAD. FIRE SMITH!!! Ducks regress offensively, pressure to replace Arroyo at OC: WE NEED TO OPEN OUR EYES AND FOLLOW THE DUCKS. SPREAD FOR DAYZ!!! #WOKE.
No mention of our all-time bad defense. This is a "the house is on fire and I'm worried about the dirty dishes in the sink" level post... and it all just makes me want more Beavernut message board action.
