I haven't been able to find the data to back this tweet, but the idea that Reser crowds are a bit unruly seems to have some validity: Then again, when the crowds are as small as they've been, it only takes a few bad apples to really boost the ol' ejection rate. Update: It appears that KGW in Portland is the basis for this data, and that the numbers are taken from 2016, BEFORE alcohol was sold in the stadium. www.kgw.com/article/news/investigations/highest-ejection-rates-at-college-football-games/486324488

Actually that data is probably not helpful to determine the number of unruly fans. It doesnt say if its ejections per capita or total ejections. It doesnt say if the fans were ejected for unlicensed alcohol use. Also, a higher number of ejections could occur where there are more authorities, which could also mean those crowds are more managed and so, less unruly.

I actually think it is a positive to be ranked in the top 10 in fan ejections. It means that security and the people who are responsible for monitoring the game day crowd are proactive in controlling bad fan behavior. Nebraska has always impressed me as being a relatively civil fan base, as a result they seem to have less tolerance for bad fan behavior and are number 3 on the list. If a school has a low rate of fan ejections it doesn't necessarily mean the crowd is better behaved, it could mean that security is just more tolerant of bad behavior.

Were you at the Reno game in 99 when they were serving Jack Daniels cocktails in the stadium? One thing about the state of Nevada though, their cops don't play patty-cake. I saw a loooooot of people leaving in handcuffs. Boise was the only time I had a random fan physically assault me out of the blue. Butttttt..... to be 100% fair and accurate, there were 4 attractive coeds who yelled at him and then invited me to come have a drink with them. This, unfortunately, caused me more problems than the guy who gave me a forearm shiver in the lower back from behind... because my then-girlfriend (now wife) missed the forearm shiver but received a good clear view of the attention I was receiving from the coeds. Win some, you lose some. I was there... sun burned to all hell... and I believe we drank the entire morning and walk up to the field, less during the game. And, the security/arrests as you mentioned were strictly enforced. If I'm not mistaken I believe there was a huge brawl in the end zone stands. I never saw it, but someone said later a guy or two were hanging from the railings a good height up. FresNO was the worst in my history of traveling. State troopers just stood a watched crap happen... minor assaults, bottle throwing, getting minors drunk, using an obviously mentally challenged kid to come yell obscenities after plying him with alcohol, on and on. ASU can be as bad around the stadium and in the upper decks/cheap ticket areas. ALWAYS pay more and sit downstairs!! LMAO.. one of my best friends got married on Friday and I was a groomsman. I got home at 5am, had to be at my dad's house at 7am. I showed up, reeking like a brewery, and we went to the airport. My pops is a pilot and we owned a Cessna 210 that we took to away games in those days. I climbed into the middle seat to take a nap, woke up to my dad teaching my sister's best friend how to do Dutch Rolls over the Sierra Nevadas. I grabbed him by the shirt, hauled him back into the middle row and said "HEY. DON'T. DO THAT." He laughed and said I looked green and cut it out. I finally had some hair of the dog at the game (we went straight from the airport) but that was a rough trip. I had a great view of the brawl but we were sitting in the West sidelines and it was in the North Endzone. On the South end of the field but near the West sideline is where the exit to the paddywagon was, and the thing that I noticed is that almost nobody getting hauled out was wearing Beaver gear. Probably apocryphal but the story that I heard was that there was an OSU rugby player who was attending the game with friends from UNR who played rugby (maybe frat idk) and someone took a swing at him and his rugby bros came to his defense en masse because.. well, rugby players, lol. It looked wild from my POV, raging up and down about 6-8 rows and lasting for several minutes before security could calm the situation down.

I love how you claim the moral high ground AND are the first to call someone an SOB. Classic projection. Are you as miserable as you present online? LMAO... another of the classic "I know you from your posts"! Don't think there was any "moral" high ground being established, but then again you do have a propensity for not really comprehending posts on this site and then unwittingly butting in. Second, if you actually followed the thread, my initial post was a simple comment/opinion on the selling of alcohol in college athletic venues and the issues that I have noticed and experienced. The followed by the super intelligent reply to become a BYU fan. Next... like your reading skills, some definitions seems to escape you. "Projection", in the psychological context that you are implying involves the denying of a trait in one's self and attributing it to another. I, in no way have EVER said I'm not an SOB on occasion. But, then again in the new antisocial societal norm of stepping in to make conclusions without any facts or relevance... you have just provided a perfect example. And... by the way I'm so far from miserable it'd make you cry in embarrassment. And, even more enthused when I get to reply to a hapless twit who's unaware of their own "false-consensus effect" or more likely "hostile attribution bias/intent". Look 'em up your picture is there! Maybe you should send your nasty-grams in an IM if you are concerned about people commenting. On a message board. That anyone with internet access and an email address can access. Or stop attacking peoples character, intelligence, or their parentage on a essentially public fan site and you won't have people "butting in". "Moron, twit, you're an SOB!"
So smooth, so clever. You really told us. Hostile bias, from your keyboard? That's rich. And I would be perfectly fine with you not being a miserable human, who spends much of his day screaming at Cable News and kids to get the hell off his lawn, (what happy person would wish that?), frankly I'm glad to hear I am wrong.

Over the last 2-3 years security should be handing 2 drink coupons to every man, woman, and child that enters Reser on game day.

No thx, would then run into arrogant SOBs like you without alcohol as their "excuse". I don't see the problem with going to a football game and slamming some beers, but maybe I'm just a dumb millennial. I'll continue to have a fun time while we have another losing season and you can sit in your fancy seats and worry about drunk people. Cheers. Two different people, try to keep up.

I was self-ejected. By bad football and lackluster effort.
Hoping to self-readmit this year.

More joking btw I grew up in Fresno and you hate Fresno, maybe that's why we aren't getting along on here? Definitely use to see alot of bottle throwing onto the field and what. Bulldog stadium isn't what it once was tho, the stadium is falling apart and the crowds aren't as big or committed/rowdy despite great teams the past two years. Go Dogs and Go Beavs!
