That sucks! Maybe we should go back to popsicles and slip 'N Slide? (No - just say no!)

He has had nothing but bad luck the past two seasons.

Likely starter/significant contributor. this is a big blow.

hopefully the new frosh Bennett is good, I don't think I can stomach watching Aydon all season being a non-factor and easily taken out. that just grates on my nerves.

I would rather see 3 turnstiles instead of 4. Less gaps to run through:-)

Likely starter/significant contributor. this is a big blow. I feel for the guy, that sucks big time, and I hope he heals up and does eventually become a big contributor. But, IMHO, and in most of the articles I have read, he was already in the "Injury question mark, maybe he can be worked back into the rotation slowly" bin. Same type of thing happened last year. Showed lots of promise in practice, played in a couple games and then was lost to the year due to (foot, IIRC?) injuries. Some guys just can't stay on the field, I know I would break every bone and tear every ligament in my body on the first play if I ever tried. All that to say, if the coaches were putting all their eggs in his basket than they were being foolish, and I think the rhetoric and actions over the summer indicate otherwise. Honestly, even with all of the preview and player review articles I had actually kind of forgotten about Jeromy. Still, I feel terrible for the kid. Heal up soon, Jeromy, and go beavs!

FWIW, I have very high hopes for Aydon this year. I know looks can be deciving, but I saw Elu at the Benton County Fair, and the dude is looking RIPPED. Based on just the elimination of the prodigious, protruding paunch, it look like Aydon has dropped a good amount of weight (50 lbs maybe?), which if nothing else will help him play more than 2 plays in a row. Certainly losing Jeromy is a blow to our depth though. So Elu BETTER be able to play multiple downs in a row. Whittley will hopefully fulfill the hype as already being the best DL on the team, and Elu and Hodgins will be better than last year (IMHO), hopefully Sandberg and Bennett step up and suprise as early contributors. One guy that gets forgotten about is LaMone Williams, who at times, I thought was our best DL last year. Hopefully he takes a step forward as well.

Wasn't Isaac Garcia considered to be the future at DE at one point? I'm hoping a couple of the young guys step up and do a great job.
