Sad but true, no TV coverage this weekend.
JC has an article on O-live. The good news he is putting pressure on the powers that be. Bad news it also kind of shines a negative light on OSU. I think the only other school in the conference where this might happen is at WSU.
I have searched for the link to watch on Facebook Live. Did not find any posted anywhere. However, I learned the seven steps to create my own Facebook Live broadcast...... I wonder if anyone at UH knows how to do that......
In days long ago, when a game was not picked up by a national/regional distributor like ESPN it would be carried by a local channel or something like Root Sports.
Anyway, I sent a short terse e-mail to Steve Fenk asking for a link. I could not find an e-mail for anyone at the PAC-12 conference or PAC 12 Network or I would have sent one there as well.
What a flippin fiasco....

Thanks - may two takeaways from that: - It's Facebook "Watch" not "live"
- It's "exclusively broadcast on Facebook" meaning no hope of it getting picked up elsewhere? I thought I read somewhere our game was being broadcast by some Hawaiian cable company.

Listening to Parker on the radio may be less stressful than 'watching' the game.

I’m not on Facebook. Looks like it’s radio for me with Mike, Jim and the theatre of the mind.
Just like old times.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with OSU. Hawaii and the MWC own their TV rights. We just happen to be the team Hawaii is playing this week.
Blaming anyone at OSU or the Pac-12 for this problem is like complaining to McDonald's that the Whopper you got from BK was bad.

I don't mean to ruffle any feather, but.... This whole "fiasco" is really making some of Y'all (including can-o-crappo) look old, stodgy and completely out of the loop... If you have the technology to watch the game on ESPN, Pac-12 or any other network then you have the technology to watch this one, and in fact MANY MANY more people will be able to. What does "not being on TV" even mean? I know I will be watching on MY TV! In fact since I don't get ANY cable poackages it will be the ONLY game I watch on my TV this year. Just hook your laptop up to your TV monitor, go to the beaver FB page (no account needed, Facebook.com/BeaverFootball), and BAM the game is "On TV". I guarantee it will be the most viewed Beaver game of the year.... maybe ever. And absolutely free for all of us to watch. To complain about something be aired on TV or not doesn't even make sense anymore, our concept of "TV" is 100% different from even a year ago, let alone 5, 10 or 20 years ago. Bottom line is that THIS GAME is going to be broadcast in THE MOST ACCESSIBLE WAY of ANY GAME in OSU football history! I mean that's what we care about right? You, me, every Beaver fan and every football fan in teh world be able to see the Beavers glorious defeat of Hawaii! I really see no "fiasco" I see tremendous progress, growth and oppurtunity. I see new technology forever chaning our lexicon as being "On TV", being broadcast, being watched, etc. are all having their defintions changed. I am glad FB bought the rights to this game and are broadcasting to me on my TV for free, otherwise I would have to go to a sports bar or buy a $200/month subscription to see it

Just like old times. welp. my recollection of the flash point for Oregon State football coming to life from the dregs of fertig through pettibone was the Baylor game, heard and not seen on KEX 1190. Listen closely and hopefully hear a pulse facebook feed may be gimpy so probably no chance to sync parker and the video. I don't look forward to contstant reloads or annoying pop ups.

There is no porblem here, just people who have a hard time adjusting to the changing landscapes of TV, broadcasting, live sports, entertainment delivery, technology, etc. The only possible compliant might be the quality of the video stream, but if HBO can broadcast the last episode of GOT to a billion people in 4K then I suspect FB can broadcast a football game to a couple hundred thousand people Lets go back to complaing about Tibesar, at least that is based somewhat in reality

Guess there are a bunch of football only fans here. There were a bunch of baseball games broadcast on Facebook Video only this year. I bought myself a Chromecast for just that reason. I connected it to a HDMI input on the TV. You use Google Chrome on your phone, tablet, or laptop, go into Facebook, bring up Facebook Video, find the game, start watching it on your device, and then click the Cast button. The Chromecast then makes its own connection to the feed and starts streaming it directly. You can shutdown your device and simply enjoy. Since the Chromecast makes its own connection and you are not streaming it from your device the connection is as good as on your device.

The only thing "embarrassing" about this "fiasco" for OSU is that Steve Fenk seems to be as out of touch as a lot of the folks on this message board BTW, its a LIVE STREAM, there will not be a hard link until it is actually, uh, you know... live...

And get the hell off my lawn! I suspect some of the anti Facebook sentiment may be coming from the recent revelations regarding their business practices. Many people have divorced themselves from the medium and I can't say I blame them.

The link to the "broadcast" is supposed to be active 30 minutes before the game starts. I'm sure someone past the link when its available.
