makes you wonder if standing on the sideline was going to be physcially challenging due to injury or mentally challenging?? I have to agree that this situation seems suspicious of a bad attitude from being benched but hopefully Baldwin is not lying that Collins is handling it as he should.

I think I saw Larry Scott on the sideline, not in pads, so it was ok for him to stand there.

I'll go back to what I posted/saw during the Colorado game... pouting, negative outbursts, and being a distraction on the sideline.
Injury? Who knows. But, if this is a quiet way to discipline Seth, not publicly embarrass him for his immaturity by saying he's been "suspended",I'm even MORE all in with this staff.
Integrity, discipline, and holding your athletes accountable will pay off.
Hopefully whatever the reasoning...maybe a little of both, Seth banged up from WSU and Colorado why play him at 75% vs Utah + a little temper tantrum that needed to be addressed... What better way to get him healthy... both physically and hopefully mentally. All done privately within the scope of making Seth a better player

Difference between a senior and a freshman as far as going on the trip. Scott definitely deserves to go as reward for five years of hard work and loyalty to the program. He can also contribute to a young secondary on the sideline with insight from a peer who has been on the field with these guys this year. I am not sure what if anything Seth Collins could have contributed to the cause by being on the sideline. I am not privy to the game plan so have to take coaches at their word and as a long time high school coach a do not second guess other coaches. With that said, they probably should have given Nall some touches even if Utah is solid on the interior of the "D" line. You never know what is going to happen in football game.

I have to agree that this situation seems suspicious of a bad attitude from being benched but hopefully Baldwin is not lying that Collins is handling it as he should. Baldwin feels that Collins is the best option and he may be right. But, all signs point to Seth finally facing some adversity for once in his life and he's backing away from it instead of learning and thriving.

I get Andersen's opinion that Barrs-Woods was better suited at the RB position than Nall when considering what Utah presented on defense, but the fact that Nall did not get even one carry in a game in which Barrs-woods went 9 carries for 25 yards (2.3 ypc!) is absolutely baffling. It's tough to belive that it was not worth giving Nall, who jsut last week posted the best single game rushing performance for OSU this year, at least one carry to see if things might work.
I trust Andersen, but that decision makes me go, "huh?"

There have been quite a few things about our offense this year have made me go "huh"? From personnel to scheme to play calls.
The coaching staff gets a pass from me this year, but my general confidence in the offensive coaching of this football team will not start at a very high level next year....

I quite agree jimbeav... not saying I'm a qualified OC at the college level, but play calling as far as sequencing, personnel, etc. sometimes almost seems random. As far as Nall I am sure from almost zero carries to 20 had him very sore and maybe limited, but he was suited down and I thought Utah was vulnerable at time B gap to B gap... Nall could have gotten us a couple of 1st downs, especially when we were ahead of the chains at 2nd and 5 or 6. At least in the redzone have him carry the rock/then used a decoy. BUT... this redzone/1st and goal passing 2-3 times is even more ugly when you don't have a Mannion to throw it. I thought the one thing our OL showed (even with subs) that we could man up and drive block on occasion, especially as a "change up'.
Not sure about the W/L record being dramatically different (we should have beaten the Buffs with just the QB reading/keeping as he did vs. Utah... that would have opened up the inside game again) but, we've squandered waaaaaaaay too many redzone opportunities... youth, injuries, newness or not.

I'm sure glad people are clarifying that they aren't college level OC's. The critical commentary is so cogent that all might think otherwise. Nice of people to point that they're practicing amateur proctology. We'd never have guessed on our own.

I'm not a college OC, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I believe that an injured senior player does not count against the travel player limit, whereas an underclassmen does - isn't that correct? That would explain Larry Scott travelling and not Seth Collins.
