It sounds like his life has gone off the rails... Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner was arrested Sunday following a chase in Azusa, Calif., according to a report from NBC Los Angeles. Per the report, Browner was wanted for kidnapping, false imprisonment, burglary, grand theft auto and violation of a restraining order. This comes less than three weeks after Browner reportedly spent two days in jail for battery and child endangerment. He was also arrested in the past for drug charges and making criminal threats. link

Browner is just the latest example of a long list of people, both current and past players, that have major issues with the law. The National Felon's League. Too bad for good character guys in the league to be dragged down by too many others in the NFL. It is also one of many reasons I am done with the NFL - permanently

Too bad for good character guys in the league to be dragged down by too many others in the NFL. It is also one of many reasons I am done with the NFL - permanently The arrest rate of NFL players is lower than the general arrest rate of men aged 20-39 in this country. In fact, it is nearly half. www.utdallas.edu/news/2015/8/25-31660_UT-Dallas-Criminologist-Tackles-Perception-of-NFL-_story-wide.html?WT.mc_id=NewsHomePageCenterColumnIt is all perception. when NFL players break the law, we all hear about it on every news channel. If an NFL player gets a plead deal, we believe it is wealth and privilege that got them that deal (it might just be. Or it might be that you or I could of gotten the same one). I am certainly not going to tell you what to like, or not to like. I just hope you make your decision on the correct information.

Hmmm... I'm thinking he had a very good day! In today's news cycle an intoxicated black man approaching a police officer closer and closer and he's only arrested not in the morgue.

If someone goes and signs him to a deal now, well then feel free to make LH comparisons.

How long until CTE is indicated as a cause? Not until he dies, because I'm fairly certain it can't be diagnosed while living. But I mean, one study found that 99% of former NFL players had CTE, and there's a very small percentage that are kidnapping ex-girlfriends...so I'm not sure CTE is necessarily the "cause."

They donated their brains because they had reason to. That is an important caveat. I am not trying to downplay CTE, but rather frame it correctly. When an NFL player battles issues in their post playing career that are behavioral or mental health... depression or forgetfulness or outright dementia, it will probably inevitably show CTE is a cause. But not every player experiences that. In fact, studies still show that on average an NFL player lives longer than a typical male. Again, it is perception. You only hear about the ones that die young. or tragically. You only hear about Junior Seau type stories. You don't really hear about the ex NFL player living to 85 and dying in his sleep. There is almost 1,700 players rostered on the 53 ever year. Another 300 on practice squads. Every year you add about 300 new players and you remove about 300 old players. Every year we hear some tragic story about a handful of them.

atownbeaver - I'm with you. Ken Stabler was diagnosed with CTE, and an ESPN article after he passed away said he was known "as much for his kindness and compassion as he was for his bravado."

I wonder if this story would be different had he stayed in school, at least one more year. He absolutely wasn’t ready for the NFL when he declared.

He flunked out of school, so staying was not an option. Oh, I didn't remember that. Just thought he left as a Sophomore for the big time. It kind of worked out for him, until it didn't.
