They just assumed they had better athletes at every spot. A lot of them Could not accept that they simply got handled by a better team.
The best athlete on the floor was OSU's #15. Then again, she's the best athlete on the floor every night. She will be on Sunday afternoon too.

There is some of that. But also
I sat right behind the Beaver bench. I've never seen a bigger group of girls on one team. They were also athletic, they shot incredible well, played great defense and they deserved to win last night. They took it to us. Congrats to them. I don't think we were prepared to play of team of that size. They took us out of our offensive rhythm. As previously mentioned, free throws killed us. I hope they give UCONN all the want.
And: OSU played like their coach coached: composed.

It looks like there are a few sensible Baylor fans in the mix tho...
"Oregon St had like 20 turnovers. Had we not played pretty decent defense and benefited from some bounces that went our way, and given the same effort offensively, we'd have been run off the floor."

I think the biggest differential between Baylor and the Beavs was coaching. Rueck >>>>>>>>>>> The Coat Thrower.
I couldn't believe she burned her last timeout at 3:55 to go in a tied game.

I often wonder what this team could do if they could limit their turnovers to half of their average. They sure do get a lot of them. I would love to know what is causing this.

How badly will UConn kill us? Well according to the wounded Bear fans, by a lot. That said, Texas lost by what, 18 yesterday? Texas finished second in the Big-12 to Baylor, who we beat by 3 - so transitive property - we should be able to stay at least within 14 points? Or, you know, we could just decide to be the team that ends UConn's streak, much like we did to UCLA in men's hoops...

How badly will UConn kill us? Why don't you tell us? Or is this one of them fancy rhetorical questions?

How badly will UConn kill us? The last team to beat UConn was a P12 team (Tree, last year)... Just saying...

I actually like our matchup with them better than most. When Stanford beat them, it felt very flukey - Stanford got then out of playing fundamental basketball, and got a lot of isolation opportunities on their own for a couple of athletic players that got hot. It was clear that UConn was the better coached, more fundamentally sound team and I kept expecting them to pull away - they just never did. That won't be a recipe for us. On the other hand, they typically take advantage of being fundamentally a lot more sound than other teams, not just more talented and athletic. OSU can largely match their size and fundamentals. They are obviously more skilled overall, but we can at least force them to beat us the old-fashioned way, and that is making tough shots. We'll have to do the same, of course, and then some. But I do see us having a good shot of making them execute for 40 minutes to pull away, giving us a chance to hang around and maybe make a run serious run at them if we make it a tight game.
The disadvantage they have is that they haven't had to face a late game challenge all year, and if we can force them into that situation, it could get interesting. I was surprised watching that Stanford game that they really didn't play well down the stretch and simply didn't respond well to being seriously challenged in crunch time.

Ok... lots of rhetoric... happiness for being in F4 and rightly so... any belief this team has a chance? Not a Beaver Believer "hope"... a true belief this awesome Beaver's squad has a legit chance versus a team you could arguably say is the most dominate force in their sport over the past 20 plus years.
Most do not remember but Geno had ZERO HC experience and took over a moribund program not as low as OSU was after Lavonda, but overall a way worse program) with ONE winning season in it's history! They not only get the best players, they really develop young ladies into outstanding players and never seem to have a 'hole' at any one position/skill. History will not win this game, but they have a CRAZY long term amount of success/belief... like 120-1 their last 121... all by double digits I think??? That is intimidating by any measure.

This team doesn't care about any of that. We may get beat, UConn is an excellent team, but it won't be because this team got intimidated. Most good teams do not get intimidated by history or stats... they get intimidated when they begin play. When teams see the talent they are facing in action versus on film, the speed of the game, the way a game my be officiated, etc. is when the intimidation factor sets in. Baylor felt the 'pain' of the virtual versus the reality of a big, strong, resilient bunch of women. Film does not prep you for the "reality" of an opponents actual talent level and will to win. I looooove our ladies as much as anyone and thought Baylor would beat us, and no shame in that, but our girls/team will be outmatched in most areas, including the will to win. UConn is going for HISTORY, they are plenty motivated, have the BEST coach in the history of the sport, the most talented players on the court, been here/done that (several times), and have played plenty of really talented teams of all types. I'd pick our girls over both Cuse and UW... It's a GREAT experience and stepping stone for our program and very similar how Geno's program grew... let's copy it!!

1111 I'm just gonna call you "Sandy" from here on out. At my job I'm known for two things: 1)I'm the biggest Beaver fan, 2) I'm the "Crusher of Hopes and Dreams" (no, I'm not in HR, I'm in Testing). But you put me to shame. This is the Final Four, man! Anything can happen. Would you have told David not to pick up that stone and step out onto the field against Goliath? Would you have told Steve Jobs not to keep working on that Mac thingy? Let the dream live, Dude! I can't step outside in the bright sunshine for fear I'll feel a drop, turn around only to see you standing on the second floor peeing down on my head. Do me a favor, next time you wash down there...use a little extra water and try to get some of the sand out!
