2013. When a kid was 15. What is the statute of limitations? None? well, this came back to bite him in the ass. Teammates comments are probably of little meaning, what teammate is going to say he's a great guy with this on the record? that would bring attention to the team member that would likely be questionable, so maybe I wouldn't put a lot of weight on those comments, these kids aren't stupid, and to say , "heck, I think he's ok" would not sell well.. Too bad, hopefully he grows up and leads a good life...

I think there is more to this than what we know. As nothing more than a guess, I think he is suspended if he has positive relations with teammates and is well-respected. A couple of reactions from two his contemporaries, lend to the notion that he is not a great dude. These are both currently on twitter - posted by young women who DID identify themselves (no phony anonymous names or profile pics), but I am choosing here to NOT name them, as they are not the issue: >"I remember you in high school, you’d threaten girls who wouldn’t send you nudes or sleep with you. So this doesn’t surprise me one bit. It’s unfortunate people as arrogant and egotistical as you exist. Your memorable times as a bench warmer are over."
> "I’ve watched you grow up and seen what you’ve chosen to align yourself with time & time again. In NO WAY am I surprised. I hope you have a better apology for “everyone of color” in your life-especially the ones you’re supposed to be supporting on and off the field." Sounds like young Rocco did his best to live down to all the worst stereotypes of the High School jock. We've all met them. What goes around comes around.

Was he convicted of sexually abusing a 6 year old? Oh wait, he'd still be on the team then. Except, no he wouldn't because he was a nobody who didn't help win sportsball games. And the idiot poster of the year award goes to... The post wasnt worded well but the point is valid. A 15 year old kid makes moronic comments and is let go relative to Luke's treatment or the adults accused of rape during the late 90s football program's. There is a lot of hypocrisy here by the social justice warriors but of course any counter points wont be tolerated in today's environment and you will be called a racist. Smith had little choice givin the timing but I would be very interested to see if everyones past moronic behavior as a white kid is being thoroughly investigated and by who and if the same standard is being applied to all kids on the program regardless of race.

Twitter posts are very reliable Not defending Rocco. But, anyone who chooses to jump on the bandwagon to publically bash an obviously aleady trashed young man always makes me question them. Come on, it's a huge mistake that'll already be fuel for most morally righteous idiots on social media. I hate what Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc have become and how they are used by many to promote hate. And, of course, "glass house". Most are hypocrites to some degree. What's in their closet that could be dug up? ”I hate what Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc have become and how they are used by many to promote hate”. I agree with you 100%.

It's a nice story for sure. But it has nothing to do OSU football or with Rocco Carley's dismissal from OSU football team.

Geez, seabisquit, what has this got to do with anything? Does it really matter if it directly relates to the thread? It shows compassion and community. When one is in trouble we all are. Let's be human to each other.

Apples and Oranges. Apparently this kid, per the tweets from other classmates in HS, plus the reaction of his current teammates, has a pattern of this kind of behavior. LH? A never proven accusation, a plea deal, court ordered counseling and follow up/ accountability, and no other related incidents before or after that we know about. Teammate support, coach support, and just a few months from having his record expunged. No comparison whatsoever. And it really pisses me off that a few on here believe that if Pat Casey wasn't 100% sure he was a stand up guy, doing everything he needed to do to rehab his reputation - he still would have kept him as a player, because of his athletic ability as a starter. Shame on you for talking out of your ass, you do not know that. Too bad you have so little faith in the character and integrity of one of the best coaches OSU has ever had.

"More than"? When you're in a hole - stop digging. From the expert on digging such holes. And, if course the brilliance of ignoring how threads sometimes evolve, or devolve! I'll stick by "more than" several posts on this thread. But, thx for your typical uninformative post. Of course you will.

I just hope this has legs to morph into a full blown discussion about Luke Heimlich. Can never have too many of those!
