I hardly ever post, so my opinion may not count for much. I have completely enjoy most of what I read on this forum. The arguments over spelling, politics, etc gets quite old... I have learned to just skip over that stuff. The little golden nuggets that are shared from time to time are what keeps me coming back. I think that without sports actually being played, what I would consider good content is hard to find.

Assuming politics are part of the problem, I'd do a politics board and warn posters there will be a short time-out for going political on a sports board rather than the politics board.
Back in the Pure-Orange days the board that allowed politics was pretty much the only active board most of the summer between the end of baseball season and the second or third day of pre-season practice. It gave people something to talk about and kept many posters checking in rather than getting out of the habit every summer. I'd think a complete shut down until we have sports would lead to lower participation once restarted. Nobody is forced to look at a clearly marked political board, having it as an outlet can help keep it off the sports boards.
The sports boards are going to slow down until we have something really going on, and unfortunately in an election year everything seems to turn to politics. I'm sure it's frustrating as a board moderator, this message board has been a great outlet for Beaver fans, I'd hate to see it go.
No, please don't. We still talk about some interesting Beaver stuff. We just need to be more disciplined to keep the politics out of it. You can't blame us for some of the Covid-19 stuff as it impacts us all so negatively, including sports.
I visit this site to get information on my beloved Beavers and read some of the conversations. I really don't care for the political discourse since I don't agree with the politics of some of the posters, and I don't think it has a place in a sport's website for Beavers fans who are hungry for Beaver news regarding all the sports programs.
The service you perform is indeed cherished by many of us who visit this forum. If you need a break, please take it, and then come back with new vigor. Even though I belong to Blitz and Rivals, I still like to visit this site.
