Weird a bunch on here called out USC and Juju as not being a "team", just a one woman show. Now Beers is out and suddenly she is the entire team?? This team is more than just Beers. Come on... OSU is playing poorly especially on D... Last I saw UW was 1/12 from 3... and 19/41 from the field... meaning 18/29 (62.1%) at that juncture. That is a "bit" above our normal effort and it isn't all about Beers. Some mentioned the lack of play and emotion vs WSU and were told it was a good road win even though they have missed their best player , by far, for several games. To top it off the same folks here that have mentioned all season long that UW isn't good, can't finish games, and their coach is in over her head maybe realize it is a tough league. Injuries and illness are part of sports. If you are a top level team you step it up. At this point they are not stepping it up and seem to have zero emotion. I mean 44 points vs UW with 3 min to play?? A team giving up 69 ppg in conference play. Even with no Beers that's a bit of a head scratcher. I thought watching @ WSU players looked down.... like maybe fighting a illness/fatigue?? It also goes back to recruiting... well before the complete implosion of the Pac12... Rees and Sela are fine young women and very much "role" players. But, they are not they type to step in for a player of Beers caliber, even combined. Many mentioned the lack of post depth in terms of scoring talent, it has become more and more apparent. This team has over achieved in some ways and the season is far from over. But, from the play at WSU and so far thru 3.5 qtrs I am more worried about the team psyche... do they know more about Beers' injury than we do right now?? I never though it was too serious, but that caution should be used in letting her play this weekend. But, I also thought the mentality of this team was a lot tougher than to have it have this big of effect. But, this is an anomaly... teams have them. If Stanford can lose to Arizona... Wow, you've had to hold this in from around the beginning of the season, but FINALLY you can let it out. What a terrible, no good, bad team the Beav's are. Feel better now?

Wish we could have tried pushing pace of play today, though I know that’s not SR’s style normally. The walk-it-up-the court offense against their already-set 1/2 court defense wasn’t working today, particularly given our lack of post scoring. It wasn’t the Beavs best defensive showing today either.

So much of basketball is matchups. The Huskies switch everything defensively, and then collapse into the paint and dare you to beat them with shooting or a post who can dominate position. Both Rees and Heide couldn't take advantage of the switches against smaller players, and shots didn't fall. Defense wasn't as good as it has been either. Just a miserable effort, but in a 30 game season, they happen. Really disappointing thing is everything we needed from other teams to get the 1 seed happened for us this weekend.
Very little time to feel sorry for ourselves, learn from it, regroup, because here comes Stanford.

Utah about to take down SC. Up 7 with 50 sec left. Another 3 way for 2nd no matter who wins UCLA vs Buffs tomorrow... OSU.... 0-2 vs USC, 1-1 vs UCLA, 2-0, vs Buffs, 2-0 vs Utah... 5-3 vs Stanford & Cal USC... 2-0 vs OSU, 1-1 vs UCLA, 1-1 vs Buffs, 0-2 vs Utah... 4-4 vs Arizona & ASU Buffs... 0-2 vs OSU, 1-1 vs USC, 0-1 vs UCLA, 1-1 vs Utah... 2-5 @ UCLA vs UW & WSU UCLA... 1-1 vs OSU, 1-1 vs USC, 1-0 vs Buffs, 1-1 vs Utah... 4-3 vs Buffs, ASU & Arizona Any stumble by the four above gives Utah with a sweep at 12-6 a opportunity for a top 4 seed: Utah... 0-2 vs OSU, 2-0 vs USC, 1-1 vs UCLA, 1-1 vs Buffs... 4-4 vs WSU & UW Appears unless I missed something, OSU is a Buffs fan tomorrow. Stuff will happen the last weekend, but this weekend basically clinches regular season for Stanford as they are not losing two in the Valley. And can actually play to stay/get healthy as the #1 seed. OSU's sweep of Utah could be a big tie breaker for them vs UCLA tie for a possible 2nd or 3rd seed.

Some of that was obviously aimed at me. Regardless of today's result, Washington has had a very disappointing season and it's hard to consider them a good team. I'll stand by that.
Weird stuff happens. Sometimes the better team doesn't win. Louisville lost at home to Virginia today, Syracuse was trailing an awful Pitt team all game til a 4th quarter surge. A terrible Wake Forest team beat a mediocre Georgia Tech on the road. Kansas St. has been ranked in the top 10 pretty much all year, lost on the road at unranked Kansas today.
Obviously Oregon St. misses Beers. They rallied without her and played outstanding basketball against UCLA. Since then they've been struggling.
And speaking of Stanford they lost at home to Arizona on Friday and didn't look great today against Arizona St.

And speaking of Stanford they lost at home to Arizona on Friday and didn't look great today against Arizona St. There wasn't actually any "aiming" if you are speaking to my post. All sorts, post all types of things. But, generally judging other teams, coaches, and players from the outside often comes back to haunt posters. It's not a right or wrong... and some here seem to take posts or opposing opinions as some personal affront. Some just read into and interpret in any fashion that creates conflict. Posting wasn't to call out anyone... if one wants that it is pretty easy to go back and get exact quotes and troll someone. Most here who follow hoops know OSU is weak in the post after Beers, but also should be a better team than they showed this weekend without her. At least if we all agree they are a Top 10 team. Added, that every other Pac12 team also has D1 talent and coaches that do know the game. I'm just one that believes disparaging opponents... players or teams... is not only a waste, but can lead to ultimately "disparaging" your own team. I mean if "lowly" UW who can't finish game and has a terrible coach can pretty well thump my team with or without a full lineup... well, to me it's just not a good look even though we are on a fairly minor (except to us!) anonymous message board. But, as someone here says... other's mileage may vary.

I'm deleting this game off the DVR, never to be seen again. I don't think the Beavs scored on consecutive possessions more than 3-4 times today although I turned it off with 5 minutes to go.
I suspect the team will learn a lot about themselves watching film this week. Still a big believer and love this team. Time to just flush it and move on.
Go Beavs!
