Some good observations by several. Nothing new from me except our lack of offense and defense from our post players except Gardner and she appears to have issues playing with her back to the basket. Hanford with her shooting stance has to be entirely open. Our post are a joke. They have no moves whatsoever and Rees idea of defense is giving up uncontested 6- 8 footers which we continuly did or starting a center who rarely plays. Lot of years watching our post players play terrible defense. Long line of them standing in the circle while three feet from them a shot goes up over them scoring. Brown jones petrovik to list a few. We have been burned as s team inside alot just like thst on ruecks watch. We never front people down low either. Rarely see our post deny a pass to another post. We dont double team as a defensive rule down low if a post gets a pass down low. Thst short post from norte dame beat us In consecutive yesrs by no one fronting her. If the ball got to her it was to late. Part of that problem was rueck wanted tall players who had no feet! Couldnt get into players faces they werent balanced nor quick enough. I think part of the reason jones left she was out of position so much defensively. She has learned now at texas how to play the offensive post by fronting her. So she has improved her defense keeping her in the game a bit longer. She still gets caught flat footed though.

Raegan has been a defensive monster in the key. Only time Raegan got burned was in the Stanford game when KiKi I. was shooting jump shots from everywhere.

I blame Rueck for only recruiting only one Raegan Beers. Not considering the possibility that one Raegan could get injured. Very shortsighted on his part to not have a second backup Raegan.
Although I suppose to be fair, the real blame goes to Raegan’s mother for failing to give birth to identical twin Raegans.
Whoever is to blame, it’s just very frustrating as a fan.

On Lily Hanford she doesn't square her shoulders up to the basket, but leads with her left shoulder there by exposing the ball to be easier blocked by the defender. Seems to me there used to be a couple of old pros that shot that way. The exact opposite of a hook shot which you use your non-shooting to protect your shot. Lily is best suited for a zone defense or getting a pass from a penetrating guard or Beers. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of hers.

Actually he did try and get two posts at the rhe time beers was recruited beers and timea. Timea was just more suited for top of key forward cuz she has a great outside shot.

All of those post players you feel were playing terrible defense were All Pac-12 in defense. But you get to have your own opinion.

Not all of them for defense except gulich which i thought is a stud and the girl right behind her. Humblin did to but hamblin did have trouble denying shots outside the circle inside she was good protecting the basket. She blocked shots for sure.

Jones was all pac 12 and could block shots but was very limited moving her feet. Could only guard behind her man until recently ive seen her front players now which has helped her from getting into foul trouble. She has made a good transition at Texas.

Gardiner grew up playing with Maggie (who is 6'7"), and so she never learned any post moves. She has always played the 4. Sela has played 10, 2 and 11 games in the past three years due to injuries. Her offensive skills have gotten worse instead of better due to lack of play/practice. But actually she hasn't been embarrassed playing defense despite my expectations due to her rustiness. Rees's skills, build, and temperament are all those of a 4, but the team needs her at the 5 and so that is what she plays. But really, after TVO, AJ, and Shuler produce nothing you feel Lilly is the one who needs to be chastised? 3/6 from the 3, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks, what does she need to do to impress you?
