I would imagine all Oregonians have already voted. I have. You’d most certainly be wrong! “All” Oregonians voting will never happen.

I would imagine all Oregonians have already voted. I have. Fun fact. 49.6% of all Oregon State students are from out of state. For all the non-Oregonians, get out and vote today or tomorrow!

Majority... but, they keep polling sites open and set postmark dates for a reason. That gawd it is a game week cuz it's about to get... wacky... again.

Get rid of the electoral college and you will get more people to votes (not just in Oregon but nationwide). Some just give up..if you live in a red state and vote blue your vote doesn't really count..live in a blue state and vote red? Same thing. It would be nice to have a popular vote for President just like every other thing we vote for.

It would be nice to have a popular vote for President just like every other thing we vote for. There are pros/cons, but there is no proof more people will vote. They've made voting so easy (and not secure) that if folks don't vote now it's unlikely they would then. However, in a simplistic example a popular vote just gives the large urban areas the power to decide elections. If you like the PDX metro area deciding policy for the State you'd love that system. If not, again certain votes again don't matter, why vote?! "Popular" vote is why States and local government rarely changes leadership no matter how poorly run. It's also a concept of true democracy, which the US is not in terms of the Founding Fathers and their policies. We're a "federalist" based system and the electoral college was a compromise... popular vs congressional vote. And, it addresses the Founders’ fears of a “tyranny of the majority,” which has the potential to marginalize sizeable portions of the population, particularly in rural and more remote areas of the country. The current system, not great. But, until a far more secure system is in place I'm not sure what would work better?? I'm positive Wilky will have a much MUCH more detailed "lesson" soon. 😉

I've filled out 25 or 30 ballots. I'm doing my part.

You’ll never get rid of the Electoral College as long as their football team remains successful in the world of NIL.
